I love that my wife is a stay at home mom. I think everyone who can financially do that should. Even being a high income earner, though, you do have to take an ego check. I am guilty of that, unfortunately. I can't buy all the things I want, but I know my wife is home educating our children, and I wouldn't trust another person on this Earth to do that to my children but her

Im just here to say that money is not everything at the end of the day. We were poor , young pregnant couple at 18 and for many years I imagined the day we “made it” . We had a money goal we chased we checked a lot of things in our goal list. And guess what ? We were the unhappiest we ever been LMAO We couldn’t understand why . We had “everything “ we dreamed of . But we didn’t have God .we were empty inside,we were anxious, depressed, material things do not equal happiness . We are now working on our spiritual journey . Good luck to everybody on your debt free journey but don’t forget to lean on God and have a relationship with him on the way ❤

During my journey to become debt-free, we didn't eat out for a year. This was easier because we had toddlers and taking them to a restaurant is never fun. But we did this to save money. I remember someone in our family taking us out one time to a steak house and it feeling so foreign. You also appreciate it so much when it's a treat and not an every day occurrence. Anything you need to cut for a season is well worth the reward on the other end. Keep going!

Who gets a tax refund anymore just people with kids?
@MsValiG
@MsValiG 5 ай бұрын
No. Minimum wage workers usually and if they have kids they might get more. I make too much money and I have kids but I have no refund, I've been paying taxes for the past 10 years. It depends on the income in theory. The more money you make the more taxes you which seems fair
@gormeroth
@gormeroth 5 ай бұрын
A tax refund doesn't really imply your tax status or tax burden. And it has nothing to do with "getting more back" or having a lower tax burden. It literally has to do with how much you're having your employer taking out to pay what you owe. If they take out too much you get a refund. The size of which is dependent about how much they are over. Same if they take out too little, then you owe. Its the pinnacle of ignorance of how taxes work where people think "I got a huge refund yaaaaaa!". No. You paid too way much and now are getting it back. Everyone seems to think it's this magical thing where if they get a refund they won the lottery and if they owe the government just screwed them. So silly.

In the discussion of a mom not making money considering the high cost of daycare… you shouldn’t forget the opportunity cost of LEAVING the workforce if you do. If you leave for five years because it was a net zero because of childcare you may find your skills outdated or not be able to find a job at the same level. Alternatively, you may not make much more than the cost of daycare NOW, but what about six months from now? Or two years from now? How much further along could you be in your career could you be if you didn’t leave the workforce? In a world where so many marriages end in divorce, women need to consider this possibility too.

@micheleohmer4117 I remember a Scandinavian foreign exchange student. She said people lived pretty boring, very similar lives. Requiring a certain wage for daycare workers would force more women into the workforce because it would increase base taxes needed to be paid. Egalitarian societies don't produce more children per capita. Anyway, i remember our foreign exchange student being blown away that we had a house with large yard and a second home on a nearby lake. She says most families live in small homes, and there's really not much upward mobility. It's so much more fun and interesting to be able to work yourself into a different lifestyle.. Scandinavia seems boring.. the vast majority seem lower to middle "middle class" and stuck there.. although I guess everyone has medical Care.

Dave, I am a huge fan, but please, take it a notch down. That lady with $160k total family income is saying that HER take home pay is $1,800/every 2 weeks. She needs to speak only about total take home pay for both incomes. Ahe was not consistently addressing both take home pays combined.

Her math is still off if her bills are 4000 yet she only has 500 a month left over. She probably THINKS she makes 160, but doesn’t.

Poor Rachel, he seems to just wants eye candy, just a pretty face, let her talk. I like she doesn't always agree with him, having all the personalities parrot him is just boring. Rachel is pretty, smart and a little privileged but emphasizes with the audience and he should let her talk more.

So many grandparents are exhausted, taking care of their grandkids and some have to say they need to cut back because they don’t have the knees or the energy to do it. It never should’ve gotten this back.
