Well you need to learn to seperate work and life. As soon as the clock hits 5pm the laptop is off, and you go live your life. If you cannot keep track of time, then set a timer for 5 pm to remind you. It is very simple.

I disagree with old belief we have to work 9 to 5. Having flexibility in your schedule allows you to be less stressed and more intentional. I like Dave but on some topics he goes to the extreme. He sounds like an employer who does not trust his staff to produce and therein lies his issue with remote work. 🙄 there are always going to be outliers however they probably don't work at work either.

Props to Dave for wrapping his arms around Katie and not just yelling at her. Something is definitely wrong with her budget. She probably has Netflix, Amazon, Disney +, etc. All those should be dropped asap. She probably is paying $60-80 for her cell phone bill, that can be cut in half to a 1/3 for the same service with something like Mint mobile. She's definitely go this with that income, she just needs a plan.

Correction, nobody lives for free whether they reside with their parents, grandparents, uncle, or cousin. Somebody pays for their water, heating and cooling, their food, electricity, wear on appliances, soap, shampoo and conditioner, laundry needs, etc. if your not contributing and your an adult with a paycheck, you are in reality a parasite.

Great advice Dave, I do however disagree with the notion that people are stealing when working three full time remote jobs. If organizations aren't running efficiently and the work there doing is still getting done, why is it a problem for a W-2 employee to make as much as they can.

You're young, and if you're in the service for four years, the job field is going to be very different than it is today. Dave says that if you get into IT, and you take a four year course, by the time you get out everything you learned is obsolete. So we want you to be very careful choosing your career path. Even though it's free, act as though it's your money you're spending. Don't pick a college based on how attractive the campus is and if it's near the beach or a big city. Talk to guidance counselors there and talk to alumni who will tell you whether or not you're going to learn something in the field that you choose. George has a test that is called the career assessment test. I would suggest that you take that. and I appreciate what you're doing for my country.

Go to nursing school!! My mother told me I would always have a job 45 years ago & it holds true today. First get your Associates degree, then once you start working most hospitals will help pay for the Bachelors. If you hate it, the education won't go to waste--every one has a body. Otherwise, plumbers & electricians make good money, ones my age or less want to retire.

I can only speak for myself but once I hit 45, no one ever asked me how old I was and I am much older than that now and sometimes I actually have to think about it. Nowadays of course people are politically correct so instead of asking how old you are, they ask what year you graduated. I tell them when I was a senior.

Dave could have said those that work security job at night and do another job during the day just to get by are thieves. You wrong for saying people who work two jobs are thieves. You are the thieve by taking advantage of the labor market enriching yourself and starving your worker to death. It's so funny how you preach handwork and getting out of debt but when it's not favoring you as an employer of labor they are thieves. It's no crime to work for two employer in united state why calling people who are trying their best to be the best version of their self thieves. If people don't work two job how do you think employer will have overcome pandemic? how? You wrong for that statement.

@jrwntctv8091 2 жыл бұрын
That's not what he said. People who are on the clock for two jobs at once are thieves. If you're working one job during the day and the other at night, you're not stealing because you're only on the clock for one job at a time. There are some people exploiting remote work and being on the clock for two or three jobs at a time. Even when you have two or three jobs, you should only be on the clock for one at a time. Work them one after the other without overlapping shifts and you're fine.

Love listening to Dave Ramsey, but for a couple of things. He constantly preaches we all should save and invest...but part of the reason why investments work for those who save is because Domestic Consumption helps capitalism. So, if people didnt overspend, those who save and invest wouldnt have as much as they do in the long run. Just keep that in mind; criticizing the normal to be weird is kind of crazy when you profit from their poor choices (collectively anyway). Second, you have to remember Dave is a salesperson (what made him a millionaire many times over - sales and real estate)....so dont put him on a pulpit (though he likes to preach from one) - listen to what he says but if everyone listened it wouldnt work anyway (like saying go to this hospital because they give you greater one-on-one attention - only works if their clients are low to steady). And finally, if he were to read this and criticize it, his response would be 'my net worth is higher than yours' (another reason to keep the sales part of this message at bay).
