The Randomizer Of TUNIC

Tunic is a really neat Zelda inspired indie game packed with secrets. I enjoyed my playthrough of it a while back, but unfortunately lost some footage so it never became a video. But, after discovering a randomizer for the game, I decided to come back and play it again, with some added randomness of course. Hope you enjoy!

Yeah, I watched the first 5 minutes, left the video in the background for another 5, came back to buy Tunic right now. This seems like a game that's right up my alley. See you in 2 hours after a refund if it doesn't work out. I don't know what kind of anti-marketing curse this game has, because even though I heard about it a lot, no one mentioned what it _actually_ is like. Like, the fact that it has an Instruction Manual as an option in the menu is already substantial enough to differentiate it from other Zelda clones, and that's _just_ the menu. All everyone wants to talk about is the artstyle.

​@@hundvd_7 the problem you mentioned is that the game relies on not being spoiled, but people take it too far and don't say anything about it (even non-important stuff that makes people want to play) i saw the same thing happen with the outer wilds which really sucks since there are so many non-spoilery things both in it and in tunic that would draw people to the game but nobody mentions cause of the no-spoiler culture surrounding these games

Spending Dynamite will eventually give you a small, permanent stash that refreshes at bonfires, so don't be afraid to chuck a few once you start building up a real supply of it.

There is a no fail option that makes you invincible and there is an easy combat mode that makes you take less damage. Otherwise, rolling is your best friend. Once you find the shield blocking is a friend as well. Good luck should you try to play again.

Give it a try!! There's a bunch of accessibility features (from infinite stamina to full invincibility) that you can switch on and off whenever you feel like it!

Tunic is a good souls-like game, but an absolute beast of puzzle/adventure game where literally everything around you is a riddle to be solved. Strongly suggest to play with some accessibility options (You can lower the combat difficulty or even be invincible!)

Tunic definitely doesn't hold the record for most secrets jammed into a game, it's just really well designed around them and making you want to find them and figure things out. I'd call it "figure things out: the game."

@@Nat_the_Chicken Yeah it probably does not hold the record, but it's definitely one of the few games which has that many secrets, with the fairies, the mountain door and the whole ARG, a whole another language and all but is still fun to the normal person. It doesn't have secrets for the sake of having secrets, they are actually part of the game

So. I didn't want spoilers for this game but I also really wanted to watch this video, so I bought the game, played through it over the span of a few days (not sure if I'm close to 100%ing yet, haven't gotten all pages just yet) I took my sweet time writing down a lot of the text then I kinda learned how the language worked (got spoiled about the structure of the language sadly, though not the letters, which I'm still missing the sound from around 1/3 of them) After that I wrote a program to extract the letters from each glyph (still a work in progress, but the algorithm works for the basic cases) And now it's finally time for me to watch this video :)

Those golden treasures you were finding, yeah there's 12 of them, and all of them have an achievement for getting them, the instruction manual has subtile hints for them

I wonder if there is a way to make the pages into logic, so you could randomize the game for a first time experience, or roleplay as it, and see how far you can get. (so the event, or in game information required to know a specific secret mechanic that is explained) I imagine it could be done, but the whole game would need to be mapped with this in mind in terms of the randomizer doing it's logic.

Bro doesn't even know about the [REDACTED] to get [REDACTED] at the beginning of the game Edit: seriously, I'm impressed by your bravery in attempting this randomizer despite _knowing_ there are things you haven't found in the vanilla game. I made sure to 100% it, get all the achievements, and pull up a list of cross codes before I started my first seed, and there were still at least five chests I didn't know I was missing. If Laurels is in one of those you're sunk lol
