That steering wheel at 11:51 in the original car was the exact same steering wheel I had in my 1987 Pontiac Grand Am. Porsche and GM must have used the same vendor for the steering wheel. That's interesting that they used the exact same steering wheel other than obviously the wording where is says Porsche, said Pontiac. What an incredible car. I am fasticnated by all these companies that modify these Porsche's and create perfection, many times from donor cars that have seen better days. Now that donor will live on for many more years allowing a new owner to enjoy some of the same joys that the previous owners enjoyed in the same car. Very cool.

Beautiful car and I absolutely love what you've done to the interior, the carbon fiber and color just bring the interior alive. Well done!

Another truly beautiful work Gavin. The colour is glorious and fits perfectly this car. It is such a delight to see a 964 which hasn’t been wiped out to create a pastiche of something it never will be. Also it made me smile when you spoke about the importance of unsprung balance, front to rear and corner to corner. It’s soooo refreshing to have someone who understands engineering principles talk about them in ways that lay people (like myself) can understand and to do so without being patronising. I can’t afford a 911 and I most likely never will be able to afford one, but that’s okay. I am very thankful for what I do have in my life. And if I am ever fortunate enough to find my lottery numbers have turned a trick for me I’m pretty sure I’ll be on the phone. Love ‘n’ hugs, Claire (from Scotland) xx

The gentleman opened with the extreme rarity of the 964. Made me feel good that my F8 is one of only 4,164 ever built. Basically following the numbers a unicorn. Thank you for that. Now onto the Porsche, pretty cool.

Thank you for such a comprehensive walkthrough of this gorgeous C4. I couldn't agree more with regard to keeping your builds understated and wholly within the design ethos of the original model. You and your team are real Porsche artisans 👏

A beautiful color. .. Pls. advise. .. Me? .. An original '98 Carrera S (993), was ordered new. .. In the garage as we speak. .. These are beautiful remakes of the 964/993 series chassis. .. The wheels: Pretty cleaver - good-looking and 17" alloys. My 993 wears the Cup II 17" alloys w/PS2 Michelins - rides like a dream .... A Dutchmann 964 or 993,,, I should be so fortunate. .. Did you say a Porsche PTS Malachite Green metallic? .. It's gorgeous, and understated in every way. .. Well done! Cheers, Vail, Colorado

Great video packed with intelligent and insightful commentary on both the example at hand and sports driving in general. A future video of the car’s transition from donor,through the build process, to finished car would be very nice.

So understated,makes it fine and elegant without being delicate.If i had the money to have a 911 ,this would be my choice for a "mod" upgrade over stock form. The only thing i would probably ask for would be a retractable wing delete option , i just CANT take any wing in a 911 if is not a turbo or a GT car , a duck tale type fixed spoiler ? definitely .
@y0057Ай бұрын
I can assure you Porsche did not invest millions to develop a car like the 964 with necessary wing on it for aesthetics only. If you’ve ever pedalled a 911 at 10/10ths and almost lost it then you’d appreciate the engineering that goes into every component making each 911. I speak from experience particularly with Aircooled cars. In wrong hands in full attack with removal of OEM wings for performance integrity God forbid things look awry in a corner you better be Walter Roel or Chris Harris or God decided to cut you some slack you’d have much respect for each component that seats to keep the car on tarmac facing the right way at all times. 🙏🏿🤷🏾♂️

The Color works so well because malachite green has black in the mix. This relates to the rubber and trim Color’s. And also, silver chrome are essentially polished black.

Congratulations, this is a very tastefully optimized 964! The RUF SCR could be a "grown up" G-model or a 964 depending on how you look at it. IMO, Singer was going for the 2.7RS/RSR look in the first series of his cars.

My Porsche is the rarest. One of one...with its particular combination of year model, color, interior stitching, choice of seats, Weissach package, magnesium wheels, extra carbon fiber bits, other options either selected or not, delivery date and location, exact corner balance figures, and registered owner.

@miamirice6840Ай бұрын
lots of subjective opinion here. Focusing on saving 8kg of weight by using hideous wheels on a much heavier and less interesting all wheel drive car is bizarre. personally i would take a C2 with stock interior and steering wheel all day long. Flat colors are stronger than ever here in the US in all the largest markets. Porsche is ramping up those color offering in response.

I must be one of the few people who find Porsches aesthetically ugly & out of proportion. The rear-engined ones look too heavy at the back for optimal handling. Just my opinion. I may well be wrong. Technologically, I’m sure they’re cutting-edge but a beautiful car? Not for me.
@michaelkmiec5842Ай бұрын
This model imo isn’t the prettiest. It’s an older style I think the proportions on like a gt3 look great. The engine isn’t were it should be so they basically have designed around that for decades. I really don’t like how the headlights look on this model
