Yeah, it was the exact same for me. It was just enjoyable to play Dark Souls 1 over and over again, so I did just that with the goal of getting all achievements. And before that I never really cared for achievements.

Yeah I had much more pain platinuming DS3, the covenant farming needed for that game sucked hard, only slight upside was it had an active multiplayer when I went for all achievemnts in the series. Done all games at least twice now cause I do enjoy getting all achievemnts in these games

The grinding in ds1 is like a few hours tops, in ds3 it took me 20 hours ingame time, totally ridiculous, if it had the drop rates of low but reasonable like ds1 it would be way better, I had like 525 discovery, anyone doing this with like 360 or so would need like 30 hours

I didn't have much trouble with that in DS2 on the Scholar version, I was at the perfect Soul Memory bracket to be able to be summoned for Skeleton Lords/Executioner's Chariot, Ruin Sentinels and I think one or two other bosses. I was able to get that Miracle without having to farm Sunlight Medals from enemies. The Skeleton Lords in particular got to feel the wrath of Heavenly Thunder over and over. I'd argue that the difficulty of that one comes down to when you go for it, Soul Memory can make it pretty easy like it did for me to get reliably summoned, or a real pain later on.
@AceAviations2

@@yahia5476 Was it through killing enemies or through Co-op, because if it was through co-op then it's a lot of fun, it never got old zapping the skeletons in the Skeleton Lords boss fight with Heavenly Thunder. Plus it always felt good helping others out.

Mad Warrior actually has a really easy farming method. Well, easier than checking over and over. Playing through this area, you'll probably die a lot, but also have killed a lot of the enemies. If you go through and clean up and completely wipe out everyone in the nearby room and on the top of the ladder, so they don't spawn anymore, you can use the Unveil spell. Simply rest at the bonfire, then cast it. If it goes up and at an angle towards him, he's there. If it just drifts off, he's not, so rest at the bonfire and cast again.

I can’t prove it, but it feels like there is good and bad rng based on every warp (not every rest). So if you get nothing after a couple tries, warp to the same bonfire and repeat. I swear that sped the process up, but maybe ds2 drove me insane.
@broomybroomybroomy

Can confirm that the rumored PS3 method floating around worked wonderfully for me. When resting at the bonfire, I could hear my PS3 disc "chunk" a few more times when reloading the belfry area with the Mad Warrior. I was guessing with 90% accuracy when listening. Took me less than half an hour for all kills.

The requirements for the Knight's Honor achievement are still weird to me. You need Grant from Leeroy, but you don't need the Barbed Straight Sword from Kirk, or the Notched Whip from Jeremiah. Ds1 100% completion is not that hard actually I don't even know why people don't seem to be able to 100% over 10 year old game, be it vanilla playing or using exploits (using exploits saves up 15-25 hours worth of gameplay) In techicality Ds2 is hardest to 100% complete You can't manipulate luck just like in different entries, Ds3 is one of easiest to complete, Ds1 and remaster becomes absolutely laughable to 100% when you do item dublication exploit (I did it for remaster to see how much faster it makes completion, og Ds1 i did vanilla and it isn't that hard in the end so i don't know why people don't just do it when it is literally easier than Ds2 100% completion) Ds2 NPC quest lines in the aren't that hard but you will need get them right get go or you are either: 1- Start new playthrough 2- Do character savings on different folder (this is absolutely must to do) 3- Try different route and do that then try again in new playthrough (NOT RECOMMENDED, Benhart/Lucatiel won't even survive NG+ so good luck, ou and bosses aim for NPC partners more likely when you are doing NPC quests) Ds2 grinding is so rng depended, it depends on if Miyazaki and RNGesus are having good day, otherwise just prepare for one of longest grind sessions Or just sacrifice cattle and hope it pleases Miyazaki and RNGesus
@Cheshire_Cat137
@Cheshire_Cat137 Жыл бұрын
The gestures one is easy. At most you just need NG+ because Heysel's gesture can't be obtained if you do Sirrus' questline, so you can only get one of the two on one NG playthrough.

I think Magic Weapon's rarity might have less to do with the Enchanted Falchion specifically, and more to do with the way the specific infusions work. Both the Magic and Enchanted upgrade paths reduce physical damage and str/dex scaling, in exchange for adding magic damage that scales with int. The difference between them is that the Enchanted path reduces the physical damage more harshly, in exchange for more magic damage and better int scaling. On an int based build, this is basically always preferable over the Magic path, which would only be better in some kind of hybrid str/dex/int build. But even then, it would only be marginally better, and using a regular weapon with a spell to buff your weapon would probably be much better still, so Magic weapons don't have much of a niche. The Divine and Occult paths have a similar split, with Occult weapons being the Enchanted parallel with better magic damage and Faith scaling. But the difference here is that Divine weapons have a much better niche due to the special Divine modifier that it adds to weapons. This not only causes it to do more damage against certain enemies, including some bosses, but it also has the very useful advantage of permanently killing skeletons, even while their necromancers are alive. This means that players wanting to take on Nito in particular are more likely to want to invest in a Divine weapon. The Fire and Chaos paths are even more diverse than the int and faith upgrade paths. Fire weapons don't scale at all, doing a fixed amount of split physical and fire damage, which is just more damage than an equally leveled chaos weapon at base. However, Chaos weapons' fire damage scales with the amount of humanity you have on you. This means that if you are comfortable with the risk of having a lot of humanity on your person at all times, a Chaos weapon is preferable as it would have better damage, but if you would rather not risk losing a bunch of humanity on death, a Fire weapon is preferred for its safer and more consistent damage. So unlike every other weapon upgrade path in DS1, Magic doesn't really have any niche where it is the best option, so if you are using any kind of guide or wiki to help you, you are unlikely to bother wasting a rare Titanite Slab on a rather mediocre upgrade path, except specifically for the achievement. And if you aren't using a guide, a +10 Magic weapon is locked behind the Large Magic Ember, which can only be found by back-tracking through an area you have already completed to return to a boss arena you are already done with which happens to be very different to the first time you went through it, which isn't something that every player is going to think to do. So overall, a +10 Magic weapon doesn't really appeal to anyone but achievement hunters, which I think explains why it is the least used upgrade path in DS1.

It's always crazy to me how a much larger % of people were willing to mess around with World Tendency in Demon's Souls, than get halfway through NG++ in Dark Souls 1. Like, in your average achievement hunting, non-speed running play through of Dark Souls 1, you're going to come across everything else you need doing the other achievements. Or at least that was my experience in 2013, when I read the wrong thing online, and thought I just needed all the boss weapons, and got the achievement when I got the third Sif Soul Weapon (and then went to Anor Lando to kill the correct person first in the Orenstein and Smough, because I accidentally killed the same guy the first cycle).
@catalystz

It's interesting indeed. I would guess that either people are just not willing to replay the games several times or maybe that World Tendency changing the game in sometimes pretty significant ways makes people curious about what happens.

I did enjoy playing Ds2 but i can understand why people hate Ds2 in the end It's much more realistic take on Characters, so you are not some amazing fantasy character from Ds1 but much more grounded and clunkier dark fantasy character Stat system was absolutely best in the series and gave more options than other games compared Story is really good when you start investing in it, way better than Ds1 but of course Ds3 and how it handled finale was just masterful, right way to end triology I have grinded Demon Souls, Ds1, Ds2, Ds3, sekiro and Ds1 remastered for 100% completion In my opinion, Ds2 is hardest to 100% complete because of its bs mechanics and NPC quest lines Normally if you just play Ds2 for story, it is amazing game but for 100% completion... it becomes god forsaken game You can't even manipulate that well luck just like any other game in the series so that alone makes grinding absolutely RNG depended You start thinking sacrificing goats or any cattle just to please Miyazaki and RNGesus

Demon’s Pure Bladestone has been by far the most painful experience ever. However getting 1 Bladestone took me less time than getting 30 proofs of concord in DS3 so take that how you will. So glad Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring have “easy” platinums by not having any annoying achievements for the sake of being annoying. ER exploration is minimal and specific, Bloodborne chalices are technologically boring yet still better than regular grind and Sekiro was mostly combat with the requirement of doing all the endings.

Getting to Ng2+ in ds2 through the halfway point is easy From second and 3rd playthrough all you need to do is farm 3 mil souls (1mil on 1st ng) and the path to The Castle opens, much better than farming for those sunlight medals from the cheap falcons

8:28 Enchanted offers higher INT scaling in exchange for lower base damage. For a high level character, Enchanted is basically a direct upgrade to Magic. Considering the materials required, and your likely progress in the game at that point, it's easy to see why so many players forego this upgrade path.

I have all achievements in Dark Souls, it's one of the few games I've played that I have gotten all of the achievements for. Knight's Honour was tedious (farming the trident took nearly an hour), but I'm so glad I did it. Funnily enough, Knight's Honour seems to be much more enjoyable than some of the achievements for the other games in this video. Elden Ring achievements seem to be so much easier to obtain, as I've only played the game once, and I have all but four achievements (2 of which are endings and 1 is all achievements).

Nicely done! I am not an achievement hunter myself but if you truly love Dark Souls it definitely seems doable within a couple of hours. I share your sentiment. I was sure to find some DS3 achievements much higher on the list.

I would've bet all my money that DS3's Master of Rings were #1. I had such a hard time with this one (the farming almost made me lose my mind). DS1's Knight's Honor was a such a relaxing time in comparison, possibly because I got the Trident on my first try :D

Good video bruv. The numbers were about what I expected, I 100 percented Sekiro and DS3 because I just liked playing them and needed something to strive towards but my love for the souls games wasn’t enough to push me to 100% DS1 or 2 lmao

Feel like mentioning it here, as if you have the fortune to farm Mad Warrior in DS2, give Unveil method a try. Unlike relying on the console sounds or RAM usage, you will only need to clear the Belfry and maybe the part below the bonfire so that enemies no longer spawn. Then you practically spam Unveil and rest if the invader hasn't spawned. Also, don't forget to use Delicate String from the blood covenant, it might help with the spawn rate 😅

I finished 100% both DS1 and DS2 (SotFS) on Steam while the servers where down. Knights Honor was annoying, but nothing was worse than farming Sunlight Medals from the janky Falconers at the camp after I'd already used multiple bonfire ascetics there to farm Slabs and Bernhart's' questline off the Prowling Magus. I hate them so much.

This video inspired me to get all achievements in the Dark Souls trilogy. I already had all of them in Bloodborne and Elden Ring, and this video made me go for it, and now I have them. Dark Souls 2 was definitely the smoothest of the trilogy -least amount of covenant farming, it felt like, since a number of spells can be bought from Wellager on NG++ thankfully enough. Dark Souls 3 and 1 felt equally painful for different reasons, in DS3 it was mostly covenant item farming, going for other stuff like rings was whatever. in Dark Souls 1 the various different types of titanite plus having to get a +10 weapon for every single boss soul item... it meant a lot of farming for titanite shards of various types, and I do not miss Demon's Souls or Dark Souls with their various different upgrade materials. That streamlining of upgrade materials that DS2, Bloodborne, DS3, and ER have is something we take for granted these days but MAN it's so much nicer.

Oh DS1. I remember that most playthroughs I would end up with several copies of each Silver Knight Weapon because the shield was the highest stability mid shield in the game, and in DS1 weapons that used twinkling did not require a slab to fully upgrade. But I would always get a spear or sword several times before the shield for some reason.

Grinding covenant items will never not be my least favorite thing. It’s a toss up between grinding for hidden weapon in the bell tower by killing all enemies until no respawn in the area so detect enemy could tell you if a certain enemy had spawned or not in DS 2, or grinding the knights on the stairs for the ears in DS 3.

A good friend and I coordinated a mutual run for Platinum over a playthrough and a half. We each got boss souls and mutually found all the weapons for Knights Honor. Zero mistakes were made and we managed to get the platinum without the required NG++ because of dropping things. We donated the boss souls and necessary weapons to each other and it was truly amazing one of my best experiences gaming tbh. Jolly cooperation.

DS2 can be completed very quickly in Ng+ and NG++ by farming The Rotten so you can use the boss souls to skip through the shrine of winter immediately upon a new game cycle which means you only need to do 1 and 1/2 playthroughs. Also, the falconers at the crossroads are a significantly better sunlight medal farming spot.
