The Rascals were an amazing band. They formed in Garfield, NJ, and refelected the soul, jazz, and R&B sounds they were raised on. They were the first white band to be signed to Atlantic Records, which was a jazz and soul label. I'm glad you liked it.

What a shame that no one is making music like this anymore. I can tell you're really loving the music of the Rascals, Jayy. I'd love you to hear some of their upbeat rockers as well as the two beautiful songs you've listened to. Their late drummer, Dino Danelli is among the most influtential rock history according to the many articles I've read. Some more of their hits are "Good Lovin'", "Lonely Too Long", "Come on Up," "A Girl Like You", "It's Wonderful", "Groovin", "People Got to Be Free",

Great music, simple melody, and easy to remember. I love the wind chimes in the beginning and the line "each bird keeps singing it's own song." Think about it every bird you hear chirps a different tune. There are no song writers today with this much talent.

Great great great reaction. The first line where the word "smile" was in it....and you just smiled at that ... I KNEW you were going to like it. This song just makes you feel good. I know you've done a few of their songs before ... but I don't think you've done "Groovin" yet? (It might be under "The Young Rascals") Its another ohhhh so feel good song.

Jayy, you keep finding these great old songs that were popular when I was in high school. I love it. So many of them were about peace, love and sunshine, etc. It was a wonderful time for music with a great deal of creativity, positivity and enthusiasm. Thanks. How about some more of Linda Ronstadt. I am so glad you are a Rascals fan! So was I/am i. Their sound is wonderful and I agree this song makes you happy ... they have others that do the same ... try Groovin'. I was lucky enough to see them in person in Hawaii in '67 or '68 ... I even got all of their autographs. They were very sweet as I had snuck back stage and they even protected me from security and made sure i did not get in trouble!! God bless you.

They went from The Young Rascals to just The Rascals. They were going for a more mature image. This guys were great with their soul music that was played even on the R&B stations of the day.
