The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe

It's a good reading. However, it was not written by Edgar Allan Poe. Not according to my research, conducted over the past ten years or so on this point. I've concluded that Poe's claim to it was a scam, similar to today's identity theft scams. The real author had been Mathew Franklin Whittier, brother to the Quaker poet John Greenleaf Whittier, who wrote it in December of 1841 based on real-life circumstances.
