Lovely video of a lovely railway. There are lots of nice, short walks you can do from the Eskdale end, all in a little book by A.W.Wainwright ('Walks from Ratty' in the station shop).

Many thanks for your comments Julian and for the information regarding the walks. Regards, Jeff.

A super video from this lovely railway Jeff. I loved the little diesel loco at the beginning of the video. Maybe not a candidate for design of the year but doing a great job! Cheers - Allan.

Looks like it's been raining at Dalegarth again then! Those little locos certainly have to work hard up there.

Thanks for your comments Andrei. There was heavy rain and thunder in Cumbria earlier in the day but it eventually turned out nice. Regards, Jeff.

Hi Jeff - it's only taken me seven years to discover this video of a line that I know very well indeed - and thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Sadly, for the next few weeks the Cumbrian Coast line is closed and I won't be able to get to Ravenglass. By the time it reopens, Ratty will be getting to the sort of limited timetable which makes a long day out less attractive. However, if winter comes, can spring be far behind? Best wishes.

Thanks for your comments Tim, so glad you enjoyed the video. I remember the day well and enjoyed the trip on the line from Ravenglass to Dalegarth and back, and also the journey there from Carlisle which I think was still Class 37 operated. Really enjoyed your recent footage also and was impressed with your drone images. Best wishes, Jeff.

Wonderful, Jeff! The lovely "Ratty", well documented; Santa, taking his summer vacation; a fierce rebuttal against all those old jokes about blonde drivers; and the beautiful Cumbrian landscape - all in a single video. What more could you want. Have a jar, lad! :-)

It was a super day out with my bus driver mate Dave. I have been to Ravenglass a couple of times but this was my first visit up the line. All rounded off with a "couple" of Jars in The Ratty Arms on the main line station on return. Thanks for your comments, really good laugh. Cheers, Jeff.

I presume that car battery on the tender is to power the air pump? Seems a rather improvised arrangement.

Not too sure Andrei, bit it looked a bit odd. Thanks for your further comments. Regards, Jeff.
