@@Denussy I'm assuming you're not a Broncos fan. Ask any Broncos fan the worst loss in the last decade and they'll tell you this game. This was also the team that made the playoffs with Tebow, and Manning was seen as the missing link to push them over the top. They won 13 straight leading into this game. They were absolutely SB favorites, and I stand by this was the most balanced team of the Manning era. 2013 was all offense and 2015 was all defense.

This was my oldest sons first game he watched as a newborn. He was crying and I was trying to watch the game. I was a new dad so I put him in front the tv. Dude saw Ray Lewis lay out a hit and got quiet. Stayed quiet and watched everything Ray did. He’s 11 now. He wants to play football and guess what position. Linebacker. And he’s pretty good. Loves to rush the QB. And can get there. He just has issues with his confidence catching the ball. I think he’s getting better. We have a flag football team I’m QB for and he played one game with me after begging for 4 weeks. He had a big catch and a big run. Dude spun off a grown man. I think he’s ready.

I remember watching this during my greyhound days. I was heading back to school from home and kept getting live updates at every terminal stop . That Jacoby catch, followed by Peyton “bowing out” in regulation (& the crowd’s boos immediately after-they were pissed lol), the slugger of OT #1…and I remember confirming to myself in a bit of shock like this game is STILL going…yeesh….but I was able to just see that final kick from Tucker. I was rooting for Ray’s swan song of a career, even as a chiefs fan, and couldn’t help but salute this squad after that season. There’s a few hated franchises out there, but I have yet to come across anybody with any true disdain towards this organization. They have to be one of if not the most respected, even when they “sucked”, you never count them out. All that to say if my boys fall to them Sunday I won’t be mad at all (as long as our unit don’t completely fall asleep at the wheel)

He wasn't the only Broncos DB that happened to, either; Torrey Smith basically ended Champ Bailey's career with this game; if I remember correctly, both of Torrey's TDs were when he was matched up against Bailey. Sure, Bailey technically hung around another year or so, but he was pretty much a non-factor the following season and he retired the year after that when he failed to make the Saints' initial 53-man roster.

I remember watching this game on the projector screen in the basement of my mom's friend's house, in a town called Bel Air, about 30-40 min north of Baltimore, baked out of my mind, like it was yesterday. An absolute thrill of a game the entire time, I almost screamed myself hoarse when I watched Jacoby make that catch and send a kiss to the heavens, thanking the Good Lord for that gift of a touchdown. That postseason was like a dream for Ravens fans, especially after the previous years utterly devastating heartbreak. Flacco played like a man possessed, proving he was (and still is) ELITE 😂😂😂 and they got to send off the face, heart and soul of the franchise, Ray Ray, on top. This is without a doubt my favorite Ravens win (although that game against the Vikings the next year when like 30 points or whatever was scored in the last 3 minutes is still pretty near and dear to my heart). Loved that this game got a Deep Rewind, thank you!

Just came back to this after hearing of Jones' passing, for some reason this video was the first thing that came to mind. Very sad.

Look on the bright side though. The price of his failure got them the best kicker ever in Justin Tucker

@MazeDaGr8 too true. I actually hold Lee Evans now responsible for that L than Cund-whiff

Had a professor who was a Broncos fan and I didn't really watch the NFL regular season at the time. Heard Payton's first few games hadn't gone well and asked my professor "what are they going to do?" His response "there's nothing to do, they have no one else." Glad it turned around but this must have been a devastating end.

What an underwhelming call by the broadcaster.

This game utterly broke me up until SB50. We had so many chances to see the game out and didn’t, and so many things had to go wrong for us to lose - 7-0 Broncos, 3rd &8 we get off the field but a bullshit PI bails them out - Next play Torrey Craig burns Champ Bailey for a long TD - the Pick 6 Decker clearly gets interfered with, no flag. 14 point swing on Ref PI calls -get back into driving seat, 21-14 before HT, Don’t run out the clock, Prater kicks the turf on the long FG giving them great field position. -Champ Bailey gets mossed by Torrey Smith -finally get back in driving seat up 28-21 after they fumble, fumble it straight back to them -35-28 go ultra conservative rather than let Peyton try and win the game there and then -Rahim Moore -Rahim Moore -Rahim Moore (still not over it) - not letting Peyton try and get us into FG range with 2 TOs -letting them convert 3rd and long from their own end zone in OT -Chris Harris having a chance at a tough INT pretty much in FG range -Peyton rolling right and throwing left (Favred it) Im sure there are things ravens fans complain about (2 kick returns for instance) but Christ were all our mistakes either self inflicted or pivotal in terms of outcome. Ultimately it never should have come down to Rahim Moore, we easily should have seen out the game. We were the best all around team that year and the only team I feared was the 9ers, sickening blown game

Real talk I remember watching the game and thinking Torrey Smith had basically ended Champ Bailey's career, burning him for two deep TDs. I know the more egregious failure is Rahim Moore whiffing on Jacoby's catch, but Bailey was a legend and Torrey made him look like a UDFA playing his first game. That's not a self-inflicted mistake, that's getting torched by a better player.

@@fanboy50 it’s the pain that neither of those burnings should have happened. The PI was a joke on 3rd and 8 but Tbf out of the Broncos control. The big one was up 21-14, with the ball and getting the kick off after HT. They should have done a way better job of running down the clock. On 3rd and 7 Peyton throws an incompletion which stops the clock and doesn’t pick up anymore yards. Prater’s foot stubbing the ground is beyond WTF, but with better clock and field management that would have ended the half 21-14 or 24-14. If all plays out the same Trindon Holiday then makes it 28-14 or 31-14 and it’s practically game over and while Joe Flacco is sat on the bench

Next episode should be the Bills Chiefs game in 2021. The "moment in history" can be Mahomes' pass to Kelce to end it, but so many insane moments and storylines to unpack from that game
