I've watched 3h videos of crimson rogue rambling about books I didn't even care about. Those videos are great for when you're doing something else that doesn't require your full attention. I'm pretty sure they're pretty good for the algorithm too.

My (very limited) understanding is that KZbin will always prioritize videos that are around 10-30 min long first (that is the average length of video that lost people watch) and will barely ever recommend videos much longer than that until you watch some. So on the whole, if you average 20 mins a video then randomly put out an hour long one the algorithm will punish that significantly.

Its funny how people come into aot like ehhh its okay to i love this why do people hate on it. Also funny artist either start off bad in comparision to manga art and western comics...like One punch man web or AOT sorta...and get amazing or better, or start off good and get worst hxh through tiredness, one piece sorta with the clutter and paneling, or start out good and stay good, berserk, my hero, chainsawman is the example that since they started with prior work they just build off of it...and got worst once exhaustion and that young spunk is gone. Though i dont think cm's author ever drew that much worst than he does...he sorta got worst. my hero actually got better but was never bad. I'd even say berserk got better. Vagobond seems to have consistant good. Jojo started out good and stayed. As someone who draws, you ability to draw just changes without noticing it. Maybe you feel more into the character. Helps that i didnt use style sheets though.

I feel like im in bizarre land. People hate attack on titan today but at one point i thought it was the greatest work in fiction on paper...plot and pacing wise. Like I thought there was almost no one who wouldn't enjoy it (the true perfect). Showed my friend a cut version that made the entire store into 11 hours season 1 about 1 hour and 20. They finished that and haven't touched the rest after pleads from not me but everyone who comes up to them (strangers bringing it up unannounced) and they wont finish it. Maybe there is a lot of faults i don't see but to be fair i think the first season isnt for being that "deep" or the best it's to hook, and IMO AOT does that the best. Personally finished the first season in a day. That said i was trying to not like it aka heard it was good. There are also tons of slow eps i just speeded past, which is fine, no dock off this is a new studio, were all human. If someone makes a perfect work with all the 'Good" tropes then ill say yeah AOT is bad like haters say along with JJK, Naruto, Bleach, One piece or whatever Shonen that took years to get accepted and were constantly criticized and had to change their stories to fit expectations and...LOL

@@nichescenes I think the issue is what people remember the most fondly is the ending and even though I don’t think the Anime ending is as bad as most people claim. SPOILERS My interest in the show started to dwindle down ever since the wall crumbles and the rumbling begins. It’s like game of thrones at one time it was a cultural phenomenon and now NO ONE talks about it. I still think S1-4 of AoT are so strong that it will always be remembered as one of the greatest anime of all time.

I also found people were calling it the GOAT that chapter that what you said happed and we all waited to see what would happen next. I think that caused an influx of dare I say, reading comprehension devil infection, much like all series get when their ending comes near and power scalers and people who amount their criticism to buzz words like mid overhyped, trash, bad writing, etc with little more criticism explained. Like when someone brings up well I don't like this series cause plot amour for heroes or villains or how they think diversity is a negative and so on I usually try to stop talking and just amount to hey yeah I guess that's how you feel, I liked it but opinions. That's a bit off-topic though, just think all media conversations have really gotten super myopic, maybe there's a better word for it. But like every series has a loud minority claiming how it's the worst series ever (specifically popular ones) and a bunch of specific taste on what makes a good one of said series that amounts to them calling a feature a bug. But I digress. I've fought the battles on the front lines too long and I'm waiting for the next beating stick of a series after JJK ends next month. I think we are at wits end when I read reddits of people who are fans of other series saying they need to get prepared for the influx of people moving to the next series to hate (kagurabachi has their fandom preparing as they think jjk antifans will move there) lol. I think one piece will be the only series where the fans are too strong and push back any critics that don't hold water fast. By the ending one piece could just show it's dookie in a pan and fans wont care they will still call it the best story ever made. That's commitment. IMO. PS I think she will like the AOT later part a lot more than people since she is looking less for the action and more about interpersonal drama. She cares more about characters and plots with moral choices that arent black and white so she'll like it but I could bet wrong. I really hope she doesn't read jjk not because it's bad, but it's just not her style and I hate to see all the haters who it's also not for call all the features trash writing :(

They turned him talking about being afraid to come to America due to the fans being (basically ravenous about how they wanted it and what they got) he's not saying he didn't like the ending like haters say or that the ending was bad. You keep claiming fans of the story and ending wont admit to your opinionated take that the story is flawed, then claim they should explain said plot holes and you wont give them the said plot holes you think ruin the story. I agree with the other person everything was pretty explicitly told and any more it would be asking why characters don't use the bathroom on screen levels of nitpicking to be spoon fed plot points. Disliking an ending where most if not all the reactors I watched who didn't go into the manga whole of head canon endings like that awful fan retelling of the story which is a slap in the author's face IMO...well the reactors liked it and that's after trying their best to figure out what the antifans hated so much. Not sure if people wanted perfectly happy ending or a g______ of all the people but to each their own. And every single story in existence has flaws to someone, doesn't mean everyone who sits down to enjoy said thing needs to first admit to all of them. One piece is beloved as the greatest story merphy read yet I'm sure someone doesn't like a lot of it's plot beats doesn't mean she cant like it and has to admit to it. Everything is flawed in that way. Nothing will ever be perfect or good for every single person on earth. Opinions. The haters of AOT are the loud minority though. Same with other popular series like Deathnote, jjk, one piece, dbz, monster, berserk, 20th century boys etc.

An interesting note on the differing chronology between Anime and Manga: Isayama stated in an interview -- I believe it was in one of the guidebooks -- that the manga's original focus on the more action heavy scenes, opposed to showing the cadet training in order as in the anime, was to quickly engage the audience, and ensure that the magazine kept serializing his manga. But when the manga got adapted into an anime he asked the writers/producers to rearrange the story to tell everything in order, because he thought that would be better suited for the story overall. So the choice to (originally) show the Cadet training only through flashbacks was a decision on Isayama's part only because he believed otherwise the manga wouldn't do well; but later when the series had become popular he went back on that decision and instructed the animators to change it in the anime.

Ep 22 of S1 is probably my favorite. The defeated. That scene where Levi gives away Petra’s badge to the new recruit and lies to help him mourn better….It always gets me. Such a strong scene that restates the type of person Levi is at his core.

Glad you appreciated Annie's dialogue on what it means to be a normal person, what defines people as "special" and how the military police is only corrupt because it plays into the base level of corruption that is within every human when it comes to self-preservation and putting yourself over others, which as Annie said to Eren is basically just human nature even if you consider it evil. The majority of that conversation with Marlowe is cut from the anime, so I'm really glad you're reading the manga as well since it fleshes out the characters a lot better.

Probably my favorite scene of season 1 is the final fight with Annie when Mikasa cuts her fingers as she's climbing the wall. I LOVE when she lands on her head and gently pushes her down with her feet and just says "Annie... Fall..." OMG idk what it is about that scene but it gives me serious goosebumps every single time!

"I'm so into it I'm loosing my mind" I'm so glad we're getting to see Merphy getting into attack on titan now that it's finished so we get to live through the full experience once again :D this show is what got me into anime ten years ago, it was unlike anything I had experienced before and seeing it end last year (I did start the manga in between seasons but ultimately liked the anime more so stuck to it in the end even though I got spoiled ;__;)... I've rewatched the first season many times getting more people on it and it's always exciting even when you know how the story turns out, picking up on clues you weren't able to see before is mindblowing. I'm convinced this story will be talked about among the greats in fantasy for years to come.

I think the line is something like this - "The world is a cruel place, but also astonishingly beautiful". Also, I think one message that Armin has repeated many a times "Someone who can't sacrifice anything, can never change anything!". He mainly uses this in context of the Titan shifters like Annie, who supposedly are able to sacrifice their humanity when they perform such brutal acts as we have seen them do. But, Armin also uses them for leaders like Pyxis and Erwin, who are made to make great sacrifices and risk it all to get any substantial answer or even a clue. I am an anime only guy, but from what I remember, it is these words that finally made Eren go after Annie. The funny thing is that this motto can be applied to almost anything in our daily lives.

idk if you'll see this but please keep watching anime first then manga. Even though its fine if you wanna read the manga first, I feel like the anime experience really is the FULL experience with how its animated, sounds, osts etc that just adds so much on top of the story. I think its the best way to experience the story for the first time. This is one of the animes that i don't prefer to read manga first and I kept that up until the whole anime was finished even though usually I read manga. Reading the manga for AOT felt like i was spoiling myself for the anime.

The fact that we saw you guessing who is the female titan in real video time is the best thing I have ever seen from any aot reactor, i wish you could have done episodes reactions and then read the volumes, that would have been incredible, but nonetheless this was sooo entertaining, I enjoyed it so much, like you have no idea!

i’m roughly at the same point in the series, so this is entirely a hypothesis, but my suspicion is that the hybrid titans are new titans, and titans who have lost their individual identity also lose the discernible human anatomy but still have vital organs in the remains in that area

Hope you enjoy the journey. I remember reading this monthly starting from around season 1 in the manga and no one knew the twists that are about to unfold. Personally I think it’s so well written. The themes and the huge reveal is phenomenal in AOT.
