I don't know how you do it. Your quality of build is better than I could ever do. The scale detail makes it virtually indistinguishable from the full size. Knockout model!

Thanks! I intend to show what I do through this channel, it's just a slow process given everything I have going. Plus I don't have an airplane to the point of detailing and paint yet. Once I do, it'll be a lot easier for me to show you guys.

Very nice jet Chris! You fly it very well,love the scale type flights.Got to see a lot of the A-7 when I was in Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa from '76-'78.In '76 the ANG was flying F-100's and by the time I got out in early '78 they were flying the A-7's.School is at the end of one of the runways,so we heard them well too! Thanks for sharing this!!

VA-72 Bluehawks!! I have some great memories from there and from the A-7...my favorite plane ever. And I absolutely LOVE that it has Sanders as the pilot. Best damn CO we ever were under. NOICE!! EXCELLENT model and superbly accurate rendition of a real A-7 takeoff, flight characteristics as well as landing. @chrissullivan64318 жыл бұрын
Dang... I've never commented on a video before, but I have to compliment your skills. Both the quality of the build and the piloting... Incredible. Pretty narrow wheelbase and you stuck the landing. Do you switch to lower aileron rates on approach? And were those brakes??
@Thercgeek8 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you! The airplane can be challenging in crosswinds, but otherwise flies awesome. I don't typically switch rates for landing, I'll usually find a rate that works well for the whole flight envelope and keep that throughout the flight. And yes, the airplane does have brakes. They've been a nice addition as I don't have to worry about the landing roll out so much if I end up a little long on landing.

@Thercgeek8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, the performance is awesome. It's been a lot of fun with the EDF. My only complaint is that it's too quiet. ;)
@Thercgeek8 жыл бұрын
I've not done a weathering video yet, mostly just because I haven't had a canvas to demonstrate on. Once I do, I plan to do a video on it. I like to use a combination of washes and airbrush shading.
@stevehodges33358 жыл бұрын
I would love to see how you accomplish your detailing. I have seen the video on decals already.Your panel lines and weathering detail is not overpowering but enough to really set it off and I like that.
@Thercgeek8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I try to take a less is more approach while taking cues from the full sized airplanes. It's very easy to over power weathering IMO. Also, always apply weathering inside under artificial light...doing shading and airbrushing in direct sunlight will throw things off. If it looks about right in direct sun, when you bring it inside, it'll be too dirty. That's been my experience. I will probably do a quick and dirty airbrush weathering video using a foamy as the canvas in the shorter term and then longer term I'll cover applying washes in conjunction with airbrushing on my Skyray project.
