Hint to the interested viewer: the bass drum actually also works on other keys than 1-5-9-13!! 😀

I put my bass drums on 2-6-10-14, and claps on 6 and 14. Sounds totally different. 🤡

ha i saw that, its like he pretended like he didn’t know he was going to do the most basic house beat of all time, like his hands hesitated as if considering his options

Welcome to the club of RD-9 owners 😎 I've bought mine in December '22 and you can really get some punchy base drum kicks! I've witnessed my subwoofer dancing on the table haha😅

I have one of those. It takes a while to learn how to use everything, but it's nice.

such an important feature to close the hat all the way!

@@ToeKnee010if you do both and raise and shorten the open high hat you get a very cool classic 909 pattern / loop in techno

In my opinion to have the whole spectrum of open - closed gives you a lot more possibility to nuance your hat decay time, which is essential for electronic music and groove🎉 so to just „switch“ to the closed one is a compromise…😢

I'm guessing that it could potentially be different between "authentic" and regular mode, but I don't know 😊

Yeah me too... it shouldn't be that hard to implement given they already have decay control...

Looks nice, but it’s limited. It be great if these were able to get updated and were able to download other drums like the jd-xi. Plus, then you have to record it too, so at that point might as well just use a DAW since you’d be plugging it in the software anyway.

Is there a way to change that high hat behavior... kinda sucks they didn't think of it, it's used widely!

Well cool, that it sounds a little different, so that it's not all the same. A Jomox doesn't sound exactly like one either. Neither does a Drum Station.

@@nym053 well they're marketing as specifically a 909 clone, so why doesn't it sound like a 909?
@nym053

@@ncapone87Don't ask me :) I would never expect an emulation to sound exactly as the OG, no matter what the companies makes of promises. And in the end it doesn't really matter. What matters is, does it sound good to you or not? One can't get the real deal without either paying a fortune or going the diy-outsourcing-theOG-parts route, which is not feasable for most people anyways. Go with what actually makes sense to you. If the RD9 doesn't (as an example), then don't go for it.

@@nym053 I did the DIY outsourcing bit with the RE-909 and it sounds great. There really is a difference when I A/B the two in person (a friend has an RD-9).
