The fruit in the drink is called ลําใย which is Longan. They usually sun dried the fruit and later cooked with water and some sugar or syrup. It is very tasty. Have you guys tried หอยทอด yet?

I have yet to visit Khaosan Road. I guess being a foodie I tend to have a different interest when visiting Bangkok. 😂Very cool to see you all hanging out for the day. But the food you had during the evening was more to my liking. Crispy pork with tamarind sauce and those deep fried dumplings looked awesome.

We actually had a good pad kra pao on Khaosan the day before with a friend who was visiting. It was only 90 baht as well with egg and sitting street side. It was properly made. But definitely not Thai foodie heaven!

I used to hang out and work as a DJ on Khao San Road more than 20 years ago. I'm not sure about it now because I haven't been there for a long time. At that time, 90-95% of the tourists were foreigners. It was known as a backpacker paradise. It still is. So the purpose of tourists who come here is not the food. The Thai food on Khao San Road and Rambutri Road is not authentic Thai food. It has been adapted to suit foreigners like Thai restaurants abroad, or maybe worse. For those who want to eat authentic Thai food, you should go somewhere else. Just a little farther from there is called Bang Lamphu. There you can find better Thai food and it is an old community. Not far from Bang Lamphu is called Tha Phra Athit (Phra Athit Road). There is Phra Sumen Fort and a small park in that area. There is also good and authentic food there. For foreigners who go to Khao San Road and Rambutri Road, their purpose is cheap accommodation and guesthouses. Thai food there is suitable for foreigners who may not be familiar with Thai flavors and herbs. But for Thai people, Everything there is more expensive than normal places. If we Thai people want to find Thai food to eat or clothes like those sold there. There are other places where you can find better prices and more authentic Thai food. In short, Khao San Road and Rambuttri Road are tourist attractions. The highlight of this place is the cheap accommodation or guesthouses and hostels. And the nightlife, not the food.

Suzie Walking Street more than 20 years ago was a pub and restaurant. American Western style. Started from a single room with no more than 10 customers. There was a bar and chairs against the wall and a pool table. Then it became more famous and expanded into a large shop. When this shop became famous, Khao San Road attracted more Thais to visit. And entered the era where there were more Thais than foreign tourists. I was the only Thai customer and one other friend who visited this shop since there were no more than 10 people. Until the shop became famous, attracting many Thais and celebrities to this shop. Until the shop gave me a VIP card. When there were more people until I thought the shop lost its identity, I stopped going out and learned how to be a DJ at this shop. That made me change to be a DJ at the shop at the entrance of Suzie Pub. At the entrance of the alley, there is a building with a building in the form of the Bayon temple art. The shop where I am a DJ is in this building on the 3rd floor. I am not sure if this building is still there because I haven't been there for more than 20 years.

As someone who lived there 20 years ago, if you are looking for authentic Thai food, my answer is not there. If you want to learn or understand the true nature of Thai people, my answer is the same, not there. But this is the opinion of someone who was in close contact with this place 20 years ago. I may be wrong. But the most obvious thing is that Khao San Road and Rambutri Road are not representative of Thailand and Thai people. Everything has been modified, both the food and the attitude of the people there.

Susie is the name of a bar. I guess it’s not there anymore. I have not been to Khaosan Road since probably 2006-2008. It used to be great. There were not as many stalls or deafening loud speakers blaring from bars or clubs like I have seen all over KZbin nowadays. It was more similar to Ram Buttri road nowadays.

Yeah Khaosan Road has changed a lot it seems! It definitely has an appeal for backpackers and certain tourists too 🙌😎

I got to know. You guys want the popular people in high school and went to like tons of parties more than you could count were you? I mean this with No Malice we're completely different kinds of people like I want to go where you left. To me it was a big disappointment take it either way you like it. I was totally glued to the television and then nothing. It was like you turn down the intensity from 10 to 0. I wanted to see Street Life fun action happy people. I know you've been there for a long time it's a different experience for you but I'm going to Thailand I'm going to party my brains out that's what everyone goes there for. What's a great good green stuff the blessings of God🎉🎉 I want to party with a whole bunch of people and not judge them🎉🎉 I'm up for some new experiences that's why I want to travel see how other people live. I don't expect any kind of response except negative. That was just my two cents. For the record I commented before I love the places you could go because I've never seen them before it's amazing. Have a great day🎉

@TwoMadExplorers OK Google let me put it another way you came off big time judgemental. And kind of offensive to me personally. It was like mom dad and grandma showed up to the party and voice their opinion afterwards. There was all these age differences and there was marijuana in the air and they were drinking😳 watch it again and then think that. Didn't seem like a Different Strokes for different folks attitude. Look like a completely judgmental attitude glad we're out of there.

Maybe you should have visited after the sun goes down, when all the clothes sellers get replaced by heaps of street food sellers. Not a culinary paradise and I don't endorse the place, has a good vibe though for a first experience for a young backpacker fresh off the plane, on their first night or 2 in Thailand. It's not trying to be the REAL BANGKOK, it's a starting place. it is what it is! Cheers
@TwoMadExplorers13 күн бұрын
True, we were there during the night as you would see at the middle of this video… were simply stating that it’s nothing authentic, usually way too expensive and 99% of Bangkok is better to experience, that’s all 🙏 cheers

@@TwoMadExplorers Nice one guys, love your vids. We have been to Thailand from Australia 6 x since covid. Our 20yr old daughter visited last time and we told her to spend the first 2 nights in Rambuttri (where you were in the early evening), next to Khaosan Rd. She and her friends were amazed that the prices were so low for food and bevos compared to Australia. They had a great couple of days. They met us in Chiang Mai after 2 days and fell in love with the REAL Thailand. She won't ever go back to Khaosan Area!. it's just just a staging area. Cheers Simon
