thanks for driving the project for us who live out of state. Glen Beck is working on story project about this place in January 2024

@6:25 there are several of those USPS Postal box stations thru-out the Colony Ridge subdivisions... 1 of which had 2 dead teens shot in the head just sitting in their car one day recently! I don't believe anybody has been arrested in that case thus far.

You mean like what happens in Houston routinely. Besides, I can’t find that that ever happened.

@7:45 There are no HOA's in the Colony Ridge subdivisions. There aren't even any building codes to my knowledge. The developer has been in violation of the Liberty County Rules for New Subdivision development for almost a decade now though... I presume you read that document of the county rules before you drove out to look around, right? I mean, if you aren't gonna do the homework 1st then what's the point?

@15:16 Wow! Wonder where all the trees went!!! What a mystery that is. 😕

And did you see all the natural ponds and other wetlands that were out there? Oh, right... past-tense, *were* out there. 😞

@2:28 NO keep driving straight ahead till you come to the huge washout in the city's main roadway that was caused by the stormwater run-off from Colony Ridge (which is all now to the left side of the roadway before you make your turn). Yes there are some model homes that Colony Ridge partnered with some builders to construct and sell... they are the exception not the rule out there though. You really need a local guide to make sense of this stuff man. 😞

@8:19 I believe you are still in the Monte Bello subdivision of Colony Ridge... and nearly all of the trailer houses you see out there were old before they were pulled in thru the City of Plum Grove streets and set up out there (the ones that didn't break in half while being towed thru the city of Plum Grove, that is... several just broke, and then blocked out streets in the city for hours on end while crews attempted to push the remains aside to clear our roads).
@michaelshrader5139 Жыл бұрын
@4:57 you are in their Monte Bello subdivision, which is one of the older ones Colony Ridge did back in like 2012-13. The roads there are asphalt. the later concrete roads lack any steel in them (re-bar?) and have had a lot of issues with breaking and buckling and some have had to be completely redone already even though they were much newer roads.

The look of this area reminds me of Lehigh Acres down in SW Florida. Miles and miles of roads lined with hardwood trees and the areas that are developed have tract houses with utility poles out front.
@michaelshrader5139 Жыл бұрын
@9:17 uhmm, probably not. Sewer hookups cost extra and many lot owners cannot afford to pay those fees and thus resort to pota-potties and other outhouse type structures.

Sir you so not know what you are talking about!!! @0:32 that's the City of Plum Grove, NOT the Colony Ridge subdivisions! Jeez man! Get a local resident of the city of Plum Grove to show you around.
@cynthiasilva742210 ай бұрын
Colony Ridge does have a POA. Also the entire county does not have a code enforcer so singling out this area is irrelevant. Please take a drive down the city of Plum Grove. That’s the true colonia.

You uhmm, went right by a Pizza Hut in the City of Plum Grove too you do know they aren't that special right? I mean, the pizza is good and all and I like it.... but you only remarked about passing a Pizza Hut out in the Colony Ridge subdivisions (I think you may be in Santa Fe @18:02), but ignored one when you passed it in the City of Plum Grove. Which seems really weird, to me. 😕

@15:06 yes there are some model-home streets out there... but if you haven't figured it out yet, they are the exception not the rule! You will find one of the model home streets if you wonder around long enough though. I have however been told some real horror stories about the poor construction of some of those model homes by people who made the mistake of buying them! Interior walls with extreme bowing in them, leaking roofs, broken or leaking water lines in the walls etc. I have not visited any of them myself though.

You really need a guide! Until you see the dirt roads and miserable folks, your not on course. Check out the new lawsuit that over 17k homes were ripped away from the folks. I hate it but some of my sheetrockers live back there. There's a dog fight ring also.

You were definitely in the wrong place. Im sure everyone corrected you already. We have a house on 1010. The sign where you turn says "Colonia" and hundreds of people are sitting around outside bc their homes are tents and piece together trailers. Blessings

14:11 The roads are "super smooth" because they aren't even 5 years old... they're new! You seem to be missing all the cut-outs and patches that you keep passing by though. Why do new roads have so many patches in them? Hmmm, I wonder... 😕
@michaelshrader5139 Жыл бұрын
@10:04 nobody knows exactly how many people there are in the Colony Ridge subdivisions, estimates range from between 40,000 and 75,000 though. I would never say that they are all "illegals" but based on the murders that have happened out there it seems every time that either the victim or the suspect and more often than not BOTH victim and suspect were in the country illegally thus I'd guess the percentage of illegals is pretty high. I think it's worth noting that before Colony Ridge started this mess, the Plum Grove area (the city and it's ETJ) did not have an annual murder rate.... but since Colony Ridge exploded there have been murders (plural) every year! And we don't much appreciate that, among other ills Colony Ridge brought to our doorstep! Just saying. 😐

@11:39 Ok so at this point I have lost where you are and which subdivision you might be in. But I can tell you that you missed the plywood and tar paper shacks when you turned off Plum Grove Road (fm1010) and started driving eastward... the streets you were passing by to your right then went by some real nasty winners! And you missed the huge road washout that the Grand San Jacinto and Santa Fe storm-water drainage canal caused, 6 years old and still getting larger every time it rains! smh!
