Good shepherd rescue - we’ve adopted one from there and will only do rescues from now on . This situation and the recent rescue of 80 Golden retrievers in Va and just mistreated animals in general upsets me . Then we gave abandoned, abused & mistreated children ! Jesus HELP!!

I live less than 10 miles from this shit hole... yes, it is mainly caused by what crosses the border, but this also goes for any and every person who doesn't spay & neuter... trust me, I'm paying attention, I see the rescues work day and night to street feed these dumped animals, this is a world wide problem and there needs to be tougher laws and huge fines

The illegals don't have the money to spay/neuter and even if they did (probably do because they're getting our tax money) they wouldn't spend it in being responsible dog owners.

Blame the damn Texas government. It is essential to develop strategies to control overpopulation such as providing education to owners about spaying -neutering and creating free sterilization programs for low-income families. We also need harsher restrictions and laws towards breeders. Breeders should register and have a license that is renewed annually by a licensed inspector. The government needs to have more regulations regarding adopting dogs from private breeders. The government should force the breeders to report each litter and track litters to prevent over-breeding within related dogs to avoid the inevitable health conditions related to inbreeding. Female dogs should have a limit on how many litters they can have. the government needs to enforce laws that protect animals and do a better job of protecting the welfare of every animal from cruel conditions and illegal puppy mills. Taxpayer money should go to protect animal welfare. Many cities in Texas have the high-killer shelter that killed healthy and adoptable animals. Within three days of the dog being dropped off is killed at these shelters. Overpopulation of animals is not controlled by euthanizing them. Texas Mayor and city officials do not care about animal welfare. They support slaughtered shelters !

If you restricted pet ownership to only non Hispanic populations, you would have 40 % of Texans unable to have pets. There are terrible pet owners from all demographics. I have adopted out several rescue animals to my " of Mexican descent " friend. She, along with her Mexican parents treat their (and might I add all rescued animals from the streets) exceptionally well.
