Hope this video could help those wondering or just those curious how we live to give a base idea on our type of lifestyle in the Philippines Province!🇵🇭 Let me know if there's any similar topic you'd like us to talk about! ♥️

Hi Susie, I live in Cebu and the itemized amount in the cost of living breakdown you provided are on point. In my case, my electricity is lower because I only live alone in a two bedroom home and I also go to work 5 days a week so I only spend less than PhP 2K for electricity. The grocery spend you mention is also true. Living on my own, I spend more than 1K weekly for groceries so that makes 2.5K weekly if you are a couple.

@@itsmeferny Thank you for sharing your point of view also! I'm sometimes surprised to see how expensive some people claim local life to be. Of course it all depends on the location and lifestyle like mentioned but it's good to see some relatable numbers haha

There are many different lifestyle modes in the Philippines, from the simple life in the province/ beach to the posh life in BGC/Manila. The key is creating a mix that fits your comfort and budget. Your lifestyle choices as a couple are real smart and practical - and I admire how you guys can travel to popular tourist destination without breaking the bank :).

Susie, Your comments and budget calculations are more in line with Ginno from Dazel TV. Your budget is also comparable to that of Vagabond Awake, Hobo Adventure & 8 Miles from Home KZbin channels. I like your video because it’s in the spirit of simplicity and minimalism without deprivation. I made this comment in response to other videos, but I’ll say it again here. They key to a successful transition as an expat in the Philippines seems to be whether or not the expat can find a like minded partner before or after moving to the Philippines. The expat’ s complete experience in the Philippines will be colored by his/her love relationships just as with anywhere else. This is especially true for the budget decisions the expat will make once in the Philippines (or any other country). It seems both you and your husband are committed to sharing a peaceful and simple province life in a small but fulfilling community. Your choices are a model I would choose to follow if I ever decided to leave the west.

This 30K budget is for 2 people - if I understand you correctly ( ? ) = you and your husband ? --- If a single old man by himself cooked very little and ate out cheaply most of the time - lived frugal and paid 5K rent + 5K elect for AC most of the time - ( ? ) - would about $750 -- $900 / mo. be enough most months ? 🤔 Trace Martires '''area''' has many affordable rentals under $100/mo. and about everything needed for daily living. Close enough for easy day trips to Manila or the beach or the airport !?! Lipa City too ? > Thank you for sharing the real story of what is - "needed" - over there - w/o the un-needed - "wants" !!! 🤗 ❤👍🙏👏

I always search for groups for the exact city / province I'm interested in! There's so many out there it's better to find the specific groups for the area you're interested in. For example the group "Sorsogon city rentals" is for the city of Sorsogon only. You can find ones for the whole region "Bicol Apartment Rentals" also. Just an example! :)

Now, who said it was cheap living in the Philippines! Hahahahaha Cost of living really depends on where you are located in the Philippines. It is NOT CHEAP to live in the Philippines. Travels in the Philippines are so expensive as well. Way more on travels to tourist's areas. Salary as well is too low here compared to the total cost of expenses and bills. That is why most of us Filipinos, given the opportunity, do take 2 jobs and work for 16 hours a day just to survive and live.
@stevesilver74377 ай бұрын
I agree! You have to leave the country to make a good wage!

The target audience is Foreigners, Filipinos know what it costs to live in the Province. 30k per month is a lot for most province people, many Foreigners have pensions 100k+/month so for us this is quite cheap compared to our countries where we struggle on our pensions due to everything costing way more there. Where I live in Melbourne rent alone for a small place can often cost 80-100k PHP/Month before we even start paying actual loving costs and that is if you can even find somewhere to rent
