I have seen videos of Bran Castle on a couple of other channels that I follow but one literally ran through it and I got vertigo from trying to watch it and did not really see anything except white walls. Sinead, this is so neat. Reminds me of when I was kid and my mom went to visit her family in Germany and we visited the castles in their area including Schloss Frankenstein. This year we went to Salem, MA and visited the Peabody Essex Museum and saw lots of street performers as part of Haunted Happenings.

Ponari castle is where the real Vlad Dracula really lived! Bran castle you showed us is the fictional castle of Count Dracula. Count Dracula is Vlad's myth and legend of him. He is one of Romania's greatest heros! The religion of Vlad is Eastern Orthodox. ( my religion too) Everything about Europe is just an incredible county! America is like a child compared to Europe XD!

King Charles owns several houses in Transylvania and the surrounding area. Some say he is a descendant of Vlad Tepes (Dracule) through Queen Mary. Anyway, he was just there last summer as I recall. I think he's trying to help the local economy too.

Vlad Voivode never lived in Bran it was never his castle. It is pushed to get tourists there regarding the movie vampire. There is no proof he even stayed there. His one true fortress was Poenari. Also Vlad ruled the lands mainly of Walachia. I have relatives that still live in those lands.

Dracula has always been my favourite book . As a child the image of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing fascinated me . Later as I got older and learned of his involvement with the Ottoman Empire and Turkey and the way he punished his enemies and it's no wonder Brahm Stoker got the inspiration for the story .
