Nene looks like she hasn't put on a play face in a long time and it was kind awkward doing it: 3:20. I can only guess something clicked in her and she suddenly feels like playing for a bit.

I have a feeling Annie has something to do with this. Nene was watching Annie and Ai play so much that when Nene saw Ai up there alone she felt like she wanted to give it a go. This makes me wonder how much Nene used to play as even back when Kiyo was 2-4 Nene always seemed to be taking everything seriously. Only a few times has her guard slipped so to speak, and only briefly. Which leads to her always appearing stearn and honestly unapproachable to every gorilla except Kiyo. Ai on occasion she seems friendly to, but 90% of the time Nene doesn't seem to give much attention Ai's way except when she is angry with Ai for going through the door to the basement before Kiyo, which always confused me. Kiyomasa could care less but Nene is adamant the pecking order must be held up.
