The REAL Harley Killer? Honda Goldwing F6B Review, Ride, Impressions, Walk Around, 0-60 mph!
Today we're taking the beloved Honda Goldwing F6B 1800cc MONSTER bike out for a spin. This is, in my opinion, one of the best kept secrets of the motorcycle community. Tag along as I take this touring bike for a cruiser and share my thoughts and opinions on why I dig the bike so much. Harley Killer? I'll let you be the judge of that. Awesome bike? I think so!

The F6B is now the Goldwing non-tour model. Goldwing is the king.
@johnford5568
@johnford5568 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, non tour dct. Honda designates the model with a "B". The F6B secret was the chop and the seat which made it much roomier than the previous goldwing which jammed your knees and nuts up in favor of the "queen's throne" behind you. The F6B was passed over by many due to lack of key features like cruise control. The non-tour learned not to omit certain features and leave others behind. I do not need electronic suspension or a heated seat.

I rode HD Baggers for 31 yrs and still Love Em, but my 2013 F6B (Flat 6 Bagger) is now my only street bike. Bought it Dec. 2019 from pvt party with 10,000 mi on it. It had HeliBars, Mustang Saddle, ClockWerks Windshield, 2Brothers Exhaust slip-ons. Love the HeliBars and the Windshield. The seat was 1" lower than stock, did not like sitting that low, took to a shop and had 2" added to the riders seat area and now it's Perfect! The exhaust had a Great Sound but at hwy speeds a Horrific Drone Noise. I had "Torque Loops" installed which eliminates the dual Cats and eliminates the Drone Sound! I've put 22,000 miles on it this year and most always pulling my trailer with my 2 Girls, 75 lb Labs! I absolutely LOVE this Bike!!! Ride On Bro, Adios and Los Vamos!

I have a 2016 F6B ( standard Model } and it has cruise on it . I have been riding bikes for a great part of my life and have owned more than a few of the heavy hitter over the years. I find the F6B to be a great all around bike. Little heavy if just crawling around below 5 mph , but after that it has great balance. Also very nimble for such a heavy bike.

Never ridden a Goldwing but I just bought an F6B and rode it 1400 miles home through gale force winds, hail and rain. With my partner on the back. Never got less than 220 miles to a tank. It ran faultlessly and is amazingly comfortable and smooth. The heated grips were a life saver. The stock screen looks cool but is awful on the freeway. I totally love this bike.

Great video, thanks a lot. I have a HD 2004 Heritage Classic and a 2013 F6b. Love both but not possible to compare. I was a HD fan and I was looking for a new bike (possibly a Road Glide). Never thought in a GW...but when I knew about the F6b, found causally one in a Honda dealer and tried it, I fell in love and still I am. I’m from Spain, it’s very very unusual to find one here and that make the bike special. Last summer I was in the Alps for 2 weeks. I couldn’t follow my friends riding BMW 1200GS in that mountain roads plenty of tight curves but after watching your videos I have to be honest and say that was because I have not skills enough to take advantage of all the qualities of this bike. Personally like much more the look of this model than the new one (2018 I think) Improved the bike with a smoked Klock Flare windshield, a Mustang Tripper Fastback Deluxe Seat and a center stand...looks massive and awesome. Always people looking around and far from a grandpa's bike. After 7 years no one problem. Yes, I agree with you. It’s a gorgeous motorcycle. Thank a lot!

Very good review and you ride it very well. I agree with everything you said except the gas mileage. I have a 2014 Honda Valkyrie. It handles like a dream. Silky smooth engine like an electric motor, great suspension, great brakes, rigid frame with sport bike sized tires. I have an old school '99 GL-1500 Valkarie that eats Harleys for breakfast. It's old school with 6 carbs with basically the same engine transplant as the Goldwing but with hotter cams & gear ratios. It's pretty much a forgotten bike with so many muscle cruisers on the scene. The gold wing is the gold standard but my Valk runs perfect with no fuel injection, no ABS, no fuel gauge, no LED instrumentation, no cruise control, and no GPS but the engine, brakes, acceleration and handling are all top notch and it's 20 years old. I guess it's a poor man's Goldwing.

@@JonsMotoGarage Don't confuse a Goldwing with a sport touring bike, they are very different. A sport touring bike is derived from a sportbike, light and nimble with accoutrements towards touring. Any touring bike made sport like comes from heavy stock. Honda did good with this new one but a ZX14 derived Concours would be my choice. H2SX even more so. Boost is good! Edit: and quite addictive. Power wheelies are great fun! I have an old turbo 750, no new ones. Boost is good. Sport touring bike from 1985. Runs away from most anything short of race replica bikes. I like the CBR600RR.

Great review! I agree 100% I have been riding dirt & street for 40 yrs. I loved the F6B when it came out in 2013, but thought Honda was nuts not to include electronic cruse control and ABS, especially at 840 lbs. In 2016 I pulled the trigger on a matte-white F6B, but the key was I IMPORTED IT FROM CANADA! In Canada they only sold the Deluxe (cruse, center stand, heated grips) AND ABS!!! With the exchange rate I landed it in my driveway in Colorado (Purchase, taxes, duty, customs fees, shipping) for LESS than the "out the door" price of the non-abs bike at the Denver Honda dealer. I had an ST1300 ABS before the F6B, and on the mountain twisties I was constantly having to shift up and down to stay in the power band. The F6B pulls so strong in every gear that it is damn near like an automatic. Best bike I've ever owned. BTW I think the new GW (F6B) replacement looks like the F6B & ST1300 had a love child. I prefer the F6B, but I'm sure the new GW is a blast, too.

@@JonsMotoGarage Well for Whatever Reason the Public didn't like them, they are an Odd looking bike, but because they were in my opinion Over priced at an MSRP of $18,995 they just didn't sell, Thus in 2018 Honda Released a bunch of left overs brand new in the crates, one of my local dealers up here in NH got a bunch of them and were selling them New with full Warranty for $9995, after a test ride on their demo, i bought one, and turns out Honda only made $5000 of them world wide for the 2014/15 model years (that's both years only 5000) so now that all but 1 or 2 of the leftovers are gone, like the Rune the prices of the 1832cc Valkyries are going up, with used ones selling in the $12000 range, and i have been offered more than i paid for it when i bought mine last sept 2018, but mines not for sale, never ridden a more fun and powerful bike in my life and i've been riding for 54 years.

I think I’m going to save up some $$ and buy one for my road trip bike. I’ve never ridden one but I did ride an older Gold Wing from the mid 90’s and I loved that bike, it was just too much for me as a solo rider.
