That concieve, believe, achieve bs isnt magic. But no doubt if you are putting the work in its better to have a more positive and confident mindset than a pesimistic and fearful mindset. Also, during sports being confident lets you relax more and stop consciously controlling your motion. You can more easily fall into "the flow state" and let the insticts you have trained take over. Making you less hesitant and less prone to making small mistakes from your frontal cortex trying to micro manage everything. I could see that weird visualization stuff allowing you to be less anxious in the moment.
