Interesting watching this as a Palace fan. Funny video. Most of it is true, but a couple of things, firstly Steve Bruce walked out on us so his departure wasn’t Jordan fault. Second, we were very close to promotion in the 09-10 season, but got deducted 10 points for falling into administration and suddenly found ourselves fighting for survival in more ways than one. When u look at Warnock’s record it suggests he probably would’ve taken us up. As a person, I don’t like Jordan, but he poured a lot of money into the club with the gamble we’d go up a second time and it could’ve worked had not been for the financial problems (that he was responsible for) He saved the club by buying it and tried so hard to regain promotion nearly bankrupted it. I don’t think you’ll find a more polarising figure in football at least in terms of owners/former owners.

I enjoy listening to Simon on Talksport, highly entertaining and calls it how he sees it. Also gives me a smile as I was in the mobile phone industry at the same time he was and could tell you a few stories about his company and the reality behind how it was run, let's just say it was 'unconventional'. I also used to have a couple of Palace players as customers when I ran a Nokia service centre, heard a few stories there too, especially as to why he wore sunglasses for 2 weeks shortly after he took the club over ;-) Perhaps that was why he was so vocal about Todd Boehly going in to the Chelsea dressing room after a game.....

@@jamesmoran7391 Unfortunately, it would mean betraying confidences re the football side - Read between the lines on the Todd Boehly reference ;-) As for the mobile phone company side, I negotiated a great deal on accessories with his purchasing manager, unfortunately our finance director would not sign off on a decent credit limit to enable - Fast forward a few months and he wound up the company, selling it off to T Mobile so they could take advantage of his high street locations
