I really enjoyed this! You did a great job encapsulating such an abundance of information into a brief video. Thanks so much for your hard work - much appreciated!!

Perhaps some of the best pieces of journalism that GameSpot has ever put out. Well researched and well written. Cheers to the writers and editors.

Thank you! I spent a long time researching/writing this to make sure it was as accurate as I could make it! :)

I sometimes forget that reality is often stranger than fiction. Very occasionally I remember, and I go outside and imagine myself as an alien visiting earth, I imagine how utterly fascinating earth and its inhabitants would be to anyone that’s anything like us. I see the moon as a huge orb of rock, rather than a static disk PNG. I see that the distant clouds wrap around the horizon, showing the curvature, I remember that every single star we can see is part of our own Milky Way, and we are nested inside it, surrounded by it. I feel like we have a “don’t be impressed and in awe of reality, instead be aware of predators and focus on acquiring resources” module installed, and you have to manually override it in order to truly see how utterly remarkable and improbably almost everything is.

under the fathers of rocketry, you could also add Heman Potočnik (pseudonym Hermann Noordung) who published a book in 1928 named The Problem of Space Travel - The Rocket Motor which might possibly helped others with their stuff since it covers a very broad range of space-related science, for example, he described the use of orbiting spacecraft for detailed observation of the ground (one of the ideas was rotating space station which might inspired the space station in 2001 Space odyssey) or effects of weightlessness on human bodies

Everyone knows the moon landing was faked by Stanley Kubrick! However, being the massive stickler for authenticity that he was, Kubrick insisted they shoot on-location.

One issue I have with a lot of "space history" videos made currently, is that 90% of the video covers the very early Gemini, Apollo, Vostok, and Voskhod, then they pretty much ignore or speed past all the Shuttle flights, and especially space telescopes, Hubble, Kepler, Spitzer, Chandra, Fermi, Hitomi, etc. The Shuttle and era up to about 2010 saw some of the largest advances in space, with the discovery of exoplanets, and etc. Not complaining about this video, just saying that this happens a lot

I think that’s a fair critique! I’ll say with this video, I was more focused on physical exploration to match the idea of physically exploring in Starfield … and actually cut things out as it was already longer than I wanted it to be.

Starfield seems like the game made for people fascinated with the future of Space travel. With some extra Scifi and action.

Nice overview. However I believe Frank Malina was the guy at the inception of US rocket design rather than Goddard but Malina was a communist and was consequently never given the credit he deserved.

Great video - great presentation. ❤ as to the content - I believe everything shown further cements the earth is flat and all of space is nothing more than a very complex demonstration of the tech that Hollywood has available. Love the game too ❤ awesome storyline and quest.
