Legend has it Indiana Jones did his temple run in less than 12 parsecs

Actually, it was less than 13. Mr. Jones "rounded it down" to make it seem more impressive.

crystal skull was fun, i saw it in theaters and i enjoyed it, and i still can't wrap my head around some of the criticism it got i mean sure, you probably wouldn't survive a nuclear bomb test in a refrigerator, but you probably wouldn't survive having your heart pulled out while it's still beating long enough to be put in a cage and dipped in lava, either never mind some greasyboi swinging through the jungle like tarzan? no way, might as well have a literal biblical wmd explode an entire islands worth of nazi heads while you're at it and aliens?! it's not like henry drank from the goddamn holy grail after having a chat with a 700 year old dude i mean come on be realistic

If you think about it as each macguffin and each quest being a massive embellishment on Indy's part or on the part of through-the-grapevine retellers, that may just make it more accurate.

Interesting to see the link with Chachapoyan and further conspiracies in Indiana Jones. The chachapoyans were described as fair-skinned, and wore full clothing. They were probably remnants or inheritors of the megalithic work in Peru that has gone unexplained (10k years ago). But, anywhere else in the world with megalithic structures do have myths about them being constructed by fair-skinned people or even giants. For instance, in north Africa there's a group of fair-skinned peoples whose language has no previous root language. The reason these pockets of populations exist with little knowledge, lends credence that they were world-wide survivors of a cataclysm, and that's when fertility rituals started appearing. Lots of Spielberg/Lucas/Scott films touch on these conspiracies, there's just not enough evidence for academia to confirm - but obviously the creators did the research and know what's up.
