The real-life love story of "The Big Sick"

Comedian-actor Kumail Nanjiani and his wife, Emily V. Gordon, had never written a movie before, when they decided to try and tell the basically true story of how budding romance was thrown for a loop when she was place in a medically-induced coma (the perfect plot for a romantic comedy). Their film, "The Big Sick," proved to be a critical success, and has now earned them an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Lesley Stahl of "60 Minutes" meets with Nanjiani and Gordon to find out how telling the story of their lives has turned their lives upside-down.

Thought Holly Hunter did another outstanding performance. Love the scene where Kumail said "We lost 19 of our best people" and Hunter's reaction. Had to rewind the DVR for that one a second time. RIP 9/11 victims, but that was the line of the movie, imo.

Okay...Kumail reminds me of Danny Thomas. Especially when he wears that suit with the cuff links, and tells jokes. That nose, that smile, the black hair, his disposition, and his humor style. Danny Thomas is the father of Marlo Thomas, the main spokesperson for St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. Danny Thomas was the first real spokesperson for the hospital before he died.
