I live in northern IL, and we’ve had some horrific tornadoes - Plainfield and Oaklawn to name a couple. There have been quite a few Ef0 and Ef1 tornadoes earlier in Feb 2024. There was an unseasonably warm/humid day and I told my husband around 4 pm that it felt like tornado weather. I ended up sheltering that night twice. My husband was working at his job and also took shelter twice. Scary night. We live fairly close to Fairdale IL, home of the EF4 2015 tornado, where sadly 2 people died.

Storm chasing with a manual is so cool, from someone with a knack for weather and cars, it takes alot of bravery to storm chase and work a manual transmission, props to the both of you!

I specifically bought the 6MT Crosstrek for more control when driving in snow and on wet dirt roads. I've found most ABS's do not do a good enough job in snowy/slick conditions for my liking and I can better control the rate of deceleration with the engine + MT. I also credit having a 6MT from keeping us from getting stuck on multiple occasions, most notably in New Mexico last year on an extremely wet dirt road.

@junefirst The added benefit of Subarus Symmetrical AWD system and its 50/50 power split is definitely a plus for those limited traction situations, Nonetheless tho its still really cool to see storm chasers with cars with a manual

You should do a video about the Revere, MA tornado. It seems nearly impossible because it was right on the thunderstorm killing cold Atlantic Ocean. It also occurred at like 8:30 in the morning. It wasn’t a weak tornado either being an EF2. How did this happen?

Unrelated to the video (I’m halfway through and LOVING IT) - where did you get your t-shirt that has the SPC Marginal/Enhanced/etc risks on it? I’m finding two different sites that sell it but if it’s a print from another chaser in the community, I’d rather purchase from them not someone who ripped off their design, and also, not buy a ripped-off design if it was a limited-time print.
