So cool! Tho it seems obvious the unovs abyss ruins were built above ground and then sunk or were flooded, rather than a burial built underwater to begin with.

It's an option, but what makes me think they could have been built underwater is that they seem designed to work underwater (a water current kicks us out of them, and a water current moves us to each floor).
