Maria, you're inspiring for me. You deserve the best, and your great strength will get you there! Thank you WTA for giving this space to tennis women athletes and for people to start caring about mental health.

"it's healthy to speak to a psychologist" " mental health is so important" ... that sums it up, not only as a sportsperson, but in life - love you Maria - love your tennis - love WTA - fan, Phhilippines

Unfortunately for professional tennis players, success breeds expectation and expectation breeds pressure to get "results". It is so difficult! Somewhere in between, many players lose the love for the game and lose themselves in the process. So nice to see Maria incorporating mental health as part of training regimen. Thank you for being authentic and sharing your thoughts and insecurities. Always a fan and wish for her to enjoy the "journey".

What's so impressive of some athletes is, that they need to become mature adults very early or else they're gonna struggle with their career or people that act like gold diggers. Miss Sakkari is a great example for an athlete who seems to be able to find ways to handle all these challenges. Looking at some other female players, I think they should take Sakkari as a sort of role model.

Love, love this series. Maria has a beautiful game and seems like such a gentle person. Hope she can learn to deal with the pressure better in the coming years. I would love to see episodes with "older" players (29+) who have experienced the ups and downs of a career: Petra Kvitova, Karo Pliskova, Caro Garcia, Garbine, etc.

Maria you always inspire me a lot. I still remember during the covid how I began to follow you during all your tournament. It was the tournament Miami open 2021 on da 1st or April! I remember that the game was delayed because of the rain. The game began for my time at 11:00pm and ended at like 2am. It was a rough match for you and andresscu. But at this time I only knew bianca. After the game I checked who you were because you were very good and you fought like a real warrior and that’s how I started to followed you every single game and tournament. Some days I woke up at 4am to watch you because of the time zone and some days I went to bed at like 3am. You can see that I’m a big fan of you. I started to run a lot and doing some workout at my home because u were such a big inspiration for me and i know that you loved doing this. I started to be healthy and doing some training everyday and I still do it today. I’m so proud of you Maria you improved a lot and continue to be an inspiration for all your fan and hopefully one day I will meet you and your coaches. Once u said (don’t give up you are a warrior) and that quote will be in my head forever…

Right at the start of this you can see where Maria's struggles to win these big titles comes from, imposter syndrome is very much real and when it comes to sports belief is everything. When you have been bombarded with negativity about your future from a young age it becomes much harder to find the self belief needed and even when you put yourself in those positions through hard work and talent doubts always creep back into your mind. That's why psychology is probably the most important part of our sport. Over talent, over athleticism , over most other things.

It is always so interesting to listen to her. She is always so honest and generous in sharing what she thinks and feels. So soooo interesting! She even stepped back to underline that mental issues is everyone's issues. Indeed it's a normal thing. It should be. I can't identify in these words the moment when she retired... eventually (and fortunately) just taking some days off. I reckon she just went to an island on vacations, all alone. Maybe it was during that period after Indian Wells, like she mentioned. I already enjoyed a lot listening to her talking about that period. She returned stronger and today I think she is stronger than ever! Go Maria! #1! (not yet but it will happen eventually) One step at a time.

Maria Sakkari in 2021 made the semifinals at Roland Garros, the semifinals at the US Open and the semifinals at the WTA Tour Finals in Guadalajara and in 2022 she made the final at Indian Wells, the final in Guadalajara and the semifinals at the WTA Tour Finals in Texas, she has the potential to win great titles, if she improves her mental aspect and if she achieves the mentality of Nadal who fights all the points and it never comes down, I am sure that he will win great titles, I hope that in 2023 he will do much better than in 2021 and 2022. Much encouragement Maria Sakkari.

Dear Maria. = I always was a GREAT fan of yours. But after this video, you grabbed me / won me!You are full of sense / meaningfulnes, honesty, emotions, reality, U very objective of things! Oh, & most of all, yes indeed, you've got amazing tallent,! Only Chrissy & Jimmy said it the best in the 80s, even if / when I lose, I win! Meaning, later on, they knew, what to / not to do! I live din the U.S. most of my life, yet I was born in EURPA / EUROPE! Always be such a realist as you are? From a good fan.
