Thank you for another great video. I will say that when I recently asked about a Samsung refrigerator that I was very interested in, I was told that your company does not sell Samsung appliances due to the high service calls with the exception of maybe a washer/dryer. This was just a couple of weeks ago. Do you feel that Samsung refrigerators are not worth purchasing due to quality issues?

Really appreciate your videos, I’ve been looking at refrigerators for some time and thought hard about LG. The ratings from customers are pretty bad because of the condensers . I saw many complaining about their LG refrigerators failing in short time. The customer service was one of the big issues too. Seems they don’t get back to people. After a lot of thought I purchased a GE Profile refrigerator and hoping I’ve made a good choice. The thing with Samsung is the service, they don’t yet have a large service system in our area. Thanks for your insight into appliances.

With GE, you'll need to get used to chipped water filters. If you don't replace them in time, the refrigerator will stop making ice or dispensing water.

What impresses me the most regarding LG is their tenacity for constant improvements, new models and innovations. I’m a Miele fan, but have a great deal for respect LG. I’m looking to replace our full-size Miele washer and dryer, and I am impressed with upcoming W2 and T2 Nova Edition models, but want to retain the load capacity and LG may be getting our business.

Our Samsung dishwasher had issues a few years ago. It was still in warranty. Closest service provider was over an hour away, and we live in Fairfield County, Connecticut - not exactly the middle of nowhere. After FIVE visits trying to fix it we got fed up and bought a Bosch. Samsung was good enough to refund us for their terrible dishwasher. There is no way we would even consider another Samsung appliance until they have good local service.

All problems are not the same! If your ice maker doesn't work that isn't a big deal. But if your Samsung washer floods your house and causes thousands of dollars worth of damages, that is a serious failure. Our Samsung washer broke and flooded after 1.5 years. Examination of the plastic insides showed it was engineered by children with no common sense so "fixing" it would have just caused reflooding. So we threw the junk out. The warranty is a fraud. You have to pay for them to visit, parts, and labor. The lawyers class action sued Samsung. Samsung gave the lawyers money to go away while we owners got sent stickers to put around the control knob. Two thirds of the lines were missing, presumably the explode settings, and we were instructed to only point the control knob to where the lines remained. We will never buy another Samsung appliance, but we do still get their phones. Out of that terrible experience we got a Speed Queen washer and dryer set. After 8 years they are still like the day we bought them and the wash turns out cleaner and fresher than with the Samsung. If you do talk to the Samsung representative ask them what do they mean when they say their products have a warranty? Since during the warranty period nothing is covered, does that mean after the warranty period they won't consider fixing their products at all?

They finally got my panels on the F&P after weeks of them sitting across the room. New problem. They didn’t plan for the water line and power line properly, so it won’t sit flush. The Project manager walked away, saying there’s nothing anyone can do. “It’s supposed to be that way.” So, I had to send in an email with pictures. The GC guys are contemplating whether they will handle it for me. 😢 No doubt no one read the directions, as they’re clear about how to plan for these items. Pins and needles while I wait. 😢 Wish me luck! ❤

Here’s a handful of comments for LG: we’ve had (2) LG sets of washers & dryers. Both washers lasted about as long as the warranty. The first year they were great. After that they grew mold and were troublesome. Second - I need to replace both the refrigerator at our primary residence as well as my mother’s home. We love the LG Studio counter depth max refrigerators in white, but we need the zero clearance hinge set up for them to work for us. Also, I think they still use the linear compressor. I hear that is troublesome. I’d like to see statistics.

In the market for full suite of appliances and so far spent 20+ hours researching them. Whenever I see LG/Samsung in the store, i keep walking. In my home and office, LG and Samsung devices from computers to handhelds to appliances far outnumber competing brands. Samsung/LG out-spec competitors at same price point by a long shot and quality is considered "great". But in reality, the few times i needed after sale service.. on a boundary case... the outcome so far has been atrocious 3 weeks and counting. So much frustration to the extent that I might as well throw the item away and buy either the same one, or a competitors. Oh and did I say the Samsung website tries very hard to bounce consumers around in the "help" articles. Almost impossible to get a human and when you do, its a chat.

If you are communicating messages to Samsung, then please relay the following - Samsung, Please start selling your Washer/Dryer Heat pump all-in-one in Europe. There is massive demand here for it as all washing machines and dryers are the 24" size and the heat pumps contained therein are very small to fit into that space, dragging out drying times to 4 or 5 hours for a light load of laundry. Your 27" size coupled with the device's excellent energy efficiency would be a huge selling point here and bring some much needed competition to the space that BSH and Miele wouldn't appreciate. You'd need to offer consumers the option of purchasing an external electric hot-water heater for the device or in the alternative build in an electric water heater into the EU devices as most of the market only has a cold water connection here. I am grey-market exporting one to Germany for our upstairs laundry room and simply have purchased a voltage and frequency inverter to power it. Make this easier for people like me and make a ton of money in the process. Best, Eric

We purchased a Samsung dishwasher 3 years ago and it worked incorrectly from the get go. It was throwing out some obscure code that wasn’t even in the manual. Talking to Samsung, it seems that the nearest certified appliance repair shop was 3 hours away. So instead they gave us a new dishwasher. 3 hours away and we are only 1 hr away from the next major city. I will NEVER buy anything Samsung.

LG and Samsung aren't more problematic, but they don't have a very extensive service network in the USA, and those who do fix their appliances don't fix them well. Their chronic refrigerator issues haven't been solved adequately and are driving various class action lawsuits. I generally don't advise people to buy Samsung appliances in an category, and while I do think that LG laundry is pretty good, I don't recommend their other categories for various reasons.

And one other comment because you mentioned it in passing. Installation of appliances wouldn’t be so horrible here in the US if we adopted appliance standards like they have in Europe. They are so far ahead of us it’s sad. The US is simply primitive when it comes to appliances. Any size the manufacturer wants, including wonky dimensions. Don’t even get me started about how butt ugly stoves here in the US are. No standards, nothing properly built-in…and the aesthetic is grotesque. These same manufacturers make appliances for Europe so they know what do to. When I redid my kitchen I looked at over 3,000 refrigerators…and ONLY 3 would ideally fit my space. It’s ridiculous. In Europe everything is standard sizes and all built-in. You can build a much nicer kitchen for way less money…even a huge one. And you won’t have issues with appliance sizes. I know appliances are bigger in the US, so adopt standard sizes for the bigger ones…so that consumers have actual real choices and contractors can reduce costs on building kitchens because they won’t have all the measurement and installation hassles when it’s all standard sizes.

I just don’t understand how you can say something is the most reliable and claim you have the data to back it up but it only covers the first year of service. My 20 year old whirlpool washer and dryer can’t be killed with an elephant gun but was probably not as reliable as LG in the first year, but let’s see that LG in 20 years. 🤷♂️

First I wouldn't take money from any manufacturer unlike the videos you see. ALL of them affiliate link to other websites and horrible places to buy appliances. We don't. We also perform warranty service for every brand and report the numbers without prejudice. Warranty service is a money losing activity but keeps our customers insulated from problems. So I/we only want to sell reliable appliances because it costs a fortune to sell unreliable ones.... Speed Queen is reliable. I would buy one, but LG is the most reliable appliance of any kind outside hoods and disposers you can buy And BTW, we make more money on a Speed Queen set than we would with anything else.
@Pete_or_Peter4LongАй бұрын
@@YaleAppliance1 I would trust your opinion knowing these brands and build quality inside out way more than statistics of repairs in the first year. I still don’t understand how you can put so much weight on the first year of owning a product. I understand maybe that’s all you can collect data wise but come on that’s not what really matters. If someone told me Hyundai has less issues in the first year than a Toyota or Honda my brain would be thinking but I don’t see any 20 year old Hyundai’s on the road. I’m sure your repair techs have way more information and opinions on build quality and reliability between brands than you would ever disclose on this channel. I’d love to hear from them uncensored and hear what they own personally. And please don’t take this discussion as an attack or personal. I like many consumers are just looking for the kind of inside info to make educated buying decisions and to be frank there’s a ton of snake oil out there and misrepresentation.

I dont take it personally.....Many brands are seething mad for reporting their numbers. I don't really care. I wouldn’t have a Samsung anything in my house…ever. A Samsung branded appliance will never cross my threshold. Sorry…but they are junk. Everyone in my family who has had a Samsung appliance has had multiple issues with them, regardless of appliance type. My mother’s refrigerator has been nothing but problems, including causing a flood. Ice buildup in the door, refrigerator mounted ice dispenser stopped working early on and was nothing but problems when it did. Ice got stuck, built up, and caused issues. Cubes fall in the space behind the slide out door because the ice bin is so poorly designed. She told me more than once that she wished she’d listened to me. But…they were stuck on a 4th of July with no refrigerator and the only one that they could get immediately that fit their space was this Samsung POS. Cousin’s Samsung washer has constant out-of-balance issues, doesn’t clean clothes well, and just gives her headaches in general with its finicky interface. Neighbor’s Samsung dishwasher has been nothing but problems for them. Sometimes doesn’t use enough water, sometimes doesn’t dry the dishes, and sometimes things come out virtually uncleaned. I could go on. A Samsung appliance might LOOK great, such as their nice-looking washer and dryer line, but it’s nothing but lipstick on a pig. Nope. Nothing Samsung branded will ever cross my threshold. They need to put some SERIOUS effort into building quality before I would ever even consider looking at one. To that end, they could learn a LOT from LG.
