He isn't downplaying it. It's just SF6 is built for a dynamic fast-pace offense which matches his style of play which he acknowledged that it is his strength and Ken just compliments it. He can use an OP character like JP, but I don't think he'll find the same success as it doesn't match his style.

I saw Angry Bird during day 2 pools last EVO and he had this aura about him with a focused determination look in his eyes that immediately drew my attention in a large crowd of people. I'll never forget it.

In tournaments, I feel like to prevent flukes or random single poor performances things should change. In SF you only need 2 rounds, and best of 3 which is insane to me. Tekken at least is first to 3 rounds. For big events it should 100% be 3 rounds and BO5 if not even BO7.

I guess my hope is that in the future things are setup up in a way to create skill edge more pronounced by balancing it around longer games where people can use skills like match up knowledge, tendency reading and mind games to make the game more interesting and complex.

SF6 gameplay really does matches AngryBirds' offensive playstyle. The new dynamics like DR, Ken's forward sprint and lack of neutral/footsie game in this version also hurts the competitiveness of old school players, creating this gap for offensive players to dominate. But, we will see if Capcom chooses to balance the game out or put their cards all-out for this style of dynamic play.

Of course there was a gap, Angrybird played the cracked game that leaked. Day one of release he knew all the conversions, combos, framedata, etc. People used to watch his matches to learn Ken back in week 1. Im not saying he's not super good, because he is. But he did play the cracked game a lot and that definitely helped by a huge margin. Everyone in the FGC knows this.

He didnt have game before he would have been banned after capcom put the statement out. The proven players were mena, chris t and punkdagod . They all had if on there stream. It wasnt hard to crack it was already a beta out lol. Angrybrid probably did have the crack version but so did everyone else. Anyone else was banned passed

He's speaking the truth, it is a well known fact that Ken is no longer considered the best or even top 2. You're just stuck in that mindset because you hold a grudge with Ken prob. The real reason that he took evo is that he had a six month head start on the competition. I'm not saying that he isn't a good player, but he's definitely not in the same league as the greats. We can see that now that everyone has caught up. He's lost all of his matches in C cup thus far. He hasn't proven anything yet.
