Holding back allocations because they know everything is going to cost more money after the strike whether it takes price or not and they don't want to lock you in at a lower price because they will probably be jacking up the price again, pretty simple.

I he bought 13 Corvettes, 3 from Classic and I can’t order unless I do a deposit and wait a year. GM won’t even help me get another one. The GM dealers are so bad about screwing you over for a deal. I think my next ride will be a 911. I bet if I had 13 911’s I would get invites and offers to order one no questions asked.

Corvette C8 demand has been met many times over. The real problem is the banks with outstanding loans on their balance sheet from flippers that never actually intended ownership. Its was announced last week that 1.5 TRILLION in outstanding car loans was on the banks balance sheet, and i would guess that is a lot of car flippers and dealers that are counting on future profits because of the car flipping craze. Its about to crash hard in the ENTIRE sports car industry in the U.S.

I disagree partially. I think the negative equity surge has impacted more. The banks have become their own worse enemies. The used car market went dry, car prices surged as a result. Causing some cars to be worth much less than they are now Jr will be in the near future. Also, the interest rates have been crazy! That’s also affects and contributes negative equity. Then you add the flipping, it’s become a perfect storm.

Outstanding car loan debt will be passed on to consumer and insurance balance sheets to completely deflate the equity bubble. The government is getting out of the FLIPPING houses/cars/ property business altogether.

Canadian prices just got announced to the sticker shock of $12000.00 increase on Stingrays. $10000.00 increase on E Ray's. $18000.00 increase on Z06.

I am also curious. The C7 Stingray had a very short life span. It went 5 years. While the C4 was what 1984 to 1996. C6 was 8 years. I wonder why the C7 was so quick to stop, and why in 2018 so few were made at just 9600 cars?

I applaud the increase in production for this year. They will finally approach the numbers produced for the first year C4 in 1984. Now if you consider population growth, and no unemployment, and the relative ease with which anybody can get to a six figure income today; they should produce about 200,000 base models. We have 100 million more people since then. Our country has grown in numbers by 1/3. Unemployment has dropped from 7% to half that. The 30 year home loan rate was 14% back then, half that today. Money is flooding the streets today compared to back then. Today, there are whole careers that did not exist, software developer, internet webmaster, youtuber, social media influencer, most of it not even requiring a commute from bed. So the wealth has exploded, but Corvette production has not. Step it up Chevy, so we don't have to bride a car salesman to get an order.

They produced so many more vehicles this year largely due to extending the MY production run into Sept. Obviously they can't do that every year or eventually they won't start building a MY until half way thru that MY calendar. So, MY 2024 is most likely going to be two months shorter than MY 2023 and production will suffer even if there isn't a strike.

You show me a union worker and I will show you a loser. If they were really worth what they think they are worth, they would be able to go on their own and get a job anywhere at any time making what they want. They have to collectively use coercion against the employer to get higher wages that have nothing to do with skill. These are unskilled laborers, make no mistake! It only takes a few minutes of training to do what each one of these flunkies do at any given station primarily thanks to automation. The foreign manufacturers in this country do not use union workers, thus they never have this problem. Consequently, foreign auto makers continue to chip away at the sales of the big three in large part because of these union strikes.

78k to 90k for base in Canada and e-ray 128k to 150k anyways gm can forget about the canadian market. Ill keep buying korean cars and asian cars. You GM workers will end up losing your jobs maybe tell that to your union. No college degrees they want 100k assembling cars lol.

I don’t. Unions have jacked up the price of everything unnecessarily. Since the government has gotten into the business of regulating business heavily, it isn’t necessary to have a union demanding ridiculous increases in salary and benefits that are already above and beyond what their skill level demands. Unions began due to management exploiting workers unfairly however the government has now eliminated such unfairness. A few year ago auto worker health insurance added $1500 to the cost of every car. No telling what it is now.
