The 5th Gen Prelude is an awesome body. The H22 is a fun engine from back in the day, but The K Swap is a perfect logical choice.

yes bro! I love the side angle with the long hood and the rear is a timeless design as well. I wish I had kept the h22 and swapped it into a different car

im in love w the 5th gen design. it was my first car and i still got it. a mint body 2000 base model, sitting at the house with a bad h22 in it. dont know what to do with it tbh a built H22, B or K swap, or try to put an LS4 in it which would be ideal lol can do 350 all motor with an LS4. the built h22 is probably most cost effective. the K swap the most fun. and the LS4 the most unique.

The real reason i k swapped my honda prelude is because i dont ever want to play with the machine service costs to overcome frm sleeves for a boosted build, the cost to balance the rotating assembly, port the oil pump, billet boundary racing oil pump gearset etc just to have it throw the belt off the face and have my forged pistons kiss the titanium nitrided valve in vtec. Theres no reason id ever spend to build my h22. I appreciate having a now spare for the preservation of my 2001 ebp type sh to respect that cars rarity. 130k miles. I digress

Hey man, been watching your content for a long time. and I was going to do a podcast interview with you but I had a lot of family problems and ultimately I don't know what I want to do with my channel. I can totally see your reasoning for going K instead of H. Its the same for me to be honest. Not about power, or the whole H vs K discussion (Mine never came with a H series). To me, i did want a little bit more power, going from 133bhp to 190 with the K swap, but K series just IS a newer motor, parts are more available. And not alot of people have Preludes, let alone K swapped Preludes

The k makes sense in the prelude for all reasons plausible. It made more sense to me to pull the h22a1/m2f4 out of my 96 bb1 clone for the preservation of my 2001 type sh ebp. That was a no brainer. I plan to be daily driving the 96 bb2 k swap car. I want to use it. Thats the reason i feel k series is the way to go. Dont need to stress it at all

My son has an 01 Prelude. Richtunned here in Lakewood wa, said they would build his motor for 10k. No turbo. 1,800 for just machine work

i had my h22 built for 10k 6years ago and it was a bad idea to turbo it. The FRM cylinder walls are lame and you have to use specific pistons. Kswap is way easier and more reliable than h series.

You probably didn't build it right then. Many have done 500 whp on only 15 psi on a 6262

Oh no,you have to buy specific pistons. It's the end of the world. Is that supposed to matter? Frm cylinders hold 900 whp on a stock s2000 bottom end. Pistons and rods h22 on stock sleeves sits comfortably at 500 + whp. It just sounds like you've become a K series groupy

only reason i wanna engine swap my prelude is because the freaking h series burns a lot of oil. we tried adding a thing to make the oil thicker and it won’t work it still burns oil. it would be better to just kswap

H22s are strong engines but so unreliable. My h22 SH engine threw a rod on bottom. Also ate 5qt of oil a month. I sold my prelude and got an rsx-s. Never looked back, if the prelude had k series then i wouldve kept my prelude that had full wing west kit and rare jdm spoiler. Rsx is just lighter, quicker, and soo much more reliable. Wished preludes had the k series, miss my prelude nhbp.

@@Rawrkee haha yeh my rear was always dirty on my prelude also. Yes I have an 05 black rsx-s, the engine is more responsive and so reliable. Been about 3yrs over 175k miles and still running strong. Only had to do clutch and motor mounts plus suspension that wears out.

Brooo, Chris @ebpludesh actually has a second k swapped prelude and its supercharged haha his blue one is a k24 with turbo, the white one is a k20 with a supercharger
