My plan for first game is 2d platformer. Originally i wanted pixel graphics since it borrows elements from nes game. Then i too learned that pixel art is hard and takes long time. My next style i considered was hand draw digital 2d.... until i took a look of other games i am hoping to be doing in the future after this first one... and this wouod be my only 2d game. So i made a decision to make this 2d platformer with 3d graphics (kinda like how some psx platformers or levels in 3d games played). This way im not wasting time on how to make 2d graphics and then starting over for next game with 3d.

bro I couldn't relate more. People always seem to say they like realism over stylised art, and it kinda bugged me. There's so much creativity within stylised art, I believe it's where artist's true colours shine. I always felt like an outsider for liking the big chunky 8x8 pixel art so much, but now that you have that same opinion, I don't feel like so much of an outsider lol. It's nice to know that someone has the same spark of artistic desire.

I would give Blockbench a try. It’s much better than Blender for low poly modeling and texturing. Plus it runs on anything

When I was younger, I always thought the 3d more realistic looking games were the better games. Now I've got a little older I've realised I was missing out on classics like metroid, earthbound, mother 3 and chronotrigger. I've had more fun with the indie games which have 2d graphics (stardew, dead cells etc) than the recent AAA games I've played. Not only can 2D be more beautiful and timeless, but also I feel more impressed with the developers when they manage to move me with simpler 2d art

For me, 3D is way more time consuming, and as someone doing gamedev in the spare time on their own, I’m more likely to actually finish making games in 2D. Plus, I like drawing, so.

Yep, totally depends on what you like and what you’re comfortable with. 2d is usually faster but not always

No I am a game dev and 2D is much harder, firstly because 2d can't be from first person you always have to animate and animating sprites is a pain and secondly 2d physics are very wonky

KZbin has a feature for A/B-testing different titles and thumbnails, meaning you can upload multiple ones and it will automatically test which one performs best and settle for that one after a while. I assume that's what has happened here.
