People die young mostly because of poor lifestyle decisions (I.e. being fat and/or addicted). Also a huge part of why health care is so expensive is because of the inefficiencies of Medicare and Medicaid which shifts the burden onto the middle class.

When you buy insurance you have to read the fine print. They more or less reserve the right to deny coverage for anything they want, or to "deny, delay and defend" as they see fit. It's a corrupt hustle (for instance most back surgeries don't actually make the patient better), which is why people have to take responsibility for their own lifestyle choices instead of relying on a broken system.

Part of the reason insurance companies behave that way is because so many other aspects of the system are broken; many surgeries and medicines are ineffective and don't actually improve the patient and so there's a treadmill of increased consumption of "health care". Also Americans have a very unhealthy food supply of overprocessed garbage and they make terrible lifestyle decisions (fat and/or addicted), and the DNC has been forcing the system to absorb millions of illegals as well on top of the indigent.

At one point he got an agent from Blue Cross Blue Shield to admit that they would refuse all claims on their first submission. This was done because 60% would not resubmit. This was a big savings to the company. All they cared about was there bottom line. It is no wonder that the CEOs of insurance companies are being targeted. Maybe I shouldn't, but I'm a Medicare agent, and it really bothers me when I hear some of my clients say that these major insurance companies are not approving life-saving surgeries, medicines or just not paying the bills after the surgeries or simple medical services. So much so that doctors or hospitals are dropping out of their networks or eventually causing them to go bankrupt. There are entire towns who do not take Medicare advantage plans, only supplements/ Medi Gap or original Medicare. Our nation's Medical system is definitely in shambles. On another point, allegedly UHC is the biggest gov based insurance company, pharmacy, doctor & hospital network, supposedly they are dabbing into other sectors in the medical industry to add to their monopoly. Research and you'll find the same info or more. Sad day

Thank you for your insider input! My wife is an OR nurse and she too told me about the bigger picture of the whole "health insurance" scam. I can see a possibility of how Luigi Mangione, a well educated person with both Bachelors & Masters engineering degrees, got radicalized. In high school, he was very athletic, both playing soccer & wrestling. In his recent stay in Honolulu, he injured his back after a surfing lesson that made him bed bound for a week. He might have had previous surgery on his back, I am not sure. I do know the response he would have gotten if he went to an ER in Hawaii. I had it happen to me, so I know. I have both Medicare & HMSA Blue Cross/Blue Shield high option, so it is NOT from a lack of insurance coverage. If you come in with a back injury, they cannot X-ray your back because the insurance companies will not pay unless you have any of these 3 symptoms: Paralysis, incontenance or no feeling (numbness). The poor ER doc could not really diagnose me & was scared to death to touch me without being able to make a diagnosis. It is the insurance company that is behind these ridiculous rules that overrule physicians & curtail healthcare. I find that these rules are arbitrary & vary state to state. What happens in Hawaii is NOT good. Luigi might have attempted to get healthcare in Hawaii & was instead, abused because of insurance rules set up by a “nonprofit”, with a CEO making in excess of $10M!!! There is something sick with this picture, & it got worse when Obama set up Obamacare. The insurers have gotten the attitude of denying healthcare, thinking that legal challenges are cheaper than paying for services. They are daring you to sue, knowing they likely have more ways to fund the legal process than any individual. The problem is that insurers in many states have sunk to a low community standard. In Hawaii now, it is especially low. It never used to be that way. The MBA outranks the MD in healthcare today because they control the purse strings.😵💫

I think almost everyone has been denied by their health care at some point. With me, my son was hit by a semitruck and rushed to the ER by ambulance. The ER took CT scans and X-rays, but my coverage through UHC was denied because they said the Doctor's treatment for my son was excessive. My son is okay now but during this time he was 7 and had an abrasion on his side and couldn't walk. The doctors were afraid there might be internal bleeding, so they ran the test, none of whichI felt were excessive. I had to pay the bill out of pocket. I had UNH for 8 years and never had a single ER nor Urgent Care visit in that time. The one time I needed it, I was denied. Secondly, people see how the media has covered this crime around the clock, but we still know nothing about the people who tried to assisinate Trump. Also, the media is focusing on the Crime and giving zero coverage to the real issue, which is the lack of medical care for Americans.

This was highly publicized. A CEO was shot! and we are supposed to put our hand over our mouth and gasp. So many people are killed, and there is next to no coverage. This gave people time to think and process what had happened. In mass, it seems like people thought about it and know of people who have been screwed over by health insurance. Deny claims and spend the money on lawyers to fight a claim? After all many people will choose not to fight that fight. Many people don't have the time left to fight a long court battle. Now think of how much money the CEO makes in a year. He yells and screams at his staff to deny claims so the company (and him) make more money. We are not talking about mattresses here, we are talking about people's health (many cases, mortal health). So, NO, I'm not surprised this happened. The CEO peacefully slept at night after screwing people over who paid for the insurance. slamming doors in their face when they needed the insurance to come through. I have no remorse for him. See what happens if someone sets up a 'go fund me' account for him.

Shalom, regardless of his reason. These insurance companies get away with murder because no one is regulating them. No one monitors the birds. They move the goal post constantly. My wife and I spend 18 hours a week to keep my daughter in OT because no one will pay the DRs and we have to get both the foreign call service and the Americans to talk to each other and no one ever gets the paperwork and if it wasn't for my wife being an RN that deals with insurance daily for children. We would be sunk. Do I feel sorry for the CEO? Sadly, no. He was in a position to change things, and to say he didn't know about how the company works is BS. The people who called in on the guy, no they aren't rats, that is what you do when you see a criminal. As for the shooter. Yes, he did commit murder. Yes, he deserves a trial. We are a nation of laws. However, everyone needs to be held accountable in businesses that control the lives of others. Just like politicians should fear the people, industries that control your literal life should too. This is my 2 cents, and I doubt this ever gets seen.

First you have an arrest. Next the arrestee is told to not say anything by his lawyer. Then the judicial system begins trying the case through media sources, to slander the arrestee and prejudice possible jurors. By the time it ends up in court, a preponderance of judicial system statements have already created the impression a prosecutor wants believed. If the defense attorney who won't have same funds as govt, and for a poor person, who is "assigned" a public defender, it's almost certain a conviction will follow. The system is stacked against the arrestee. High Bail is often used by court to keep the economically stressed accused in jail, further hurting his chances to work at a defense for himself as well. Remember the accused has himself and an attorney, and they have to beat the entire, well financed, legal system arrayed against him. Sometimes the accused wins anyway, against the odds, like Penny just did in NYC against what came at him for protecting people on a subway from a demonically inspired nutcase threatening them all with death. Even Penny came close to being convicted for doing a good deed to protect others from what they were facing, possible physical harm, or death.

Meaning not to oppress the weak further and one's sacrifice to Him is without value if we hurt those people! #2-This kid came from privilege which usually we don't respect people who aren't humbled by some adversity and struggle. But this cat has the mark of a leader that people follow to battle, see? We don't live in r4ce, only the ignorant who drink the legacy Kool-Aid buy that. He took his ivy league education that usually indoctrinates the upper tier to continue oppressing the lower tiers of society and rose above he leveled up beyond that. #3-this cat had style!! Some real Michael Corleone sht. He could've used his privilege to hire a street gangster but he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty in a very personal way. Could've done a car 💥. Nope. Broad daylight. Yep. In front of innocent bystanders. Yep. Did he hurt said innocent bystander to cover his ass? Nope. Engraved the bullets with a calling card?! Yep. Hoo boy. This man declared war on the oppressing class and didn't care that he went to battle alone. Hooboyyy. Hello someone!? Know this. Actually John Wilkes Booth evading capture for 12 days is not that impressive. In the late 1800s tracking JWB down may have never been successful, had it not been for the fact that he was a known Actor, though a "B" list Actor. Now, his brother on the other hand, Edwin Booth, was a very prominent Actor considered the best of his time, and That did very little to help John in remaining a successful fugitive.

Taking a life in cold blood is wrong I’m a veteran who can’t afford life and still got denied VA insurance (which sucks anyways) I do not agree with free health care for all however bc look at Canada people die all the time bc they gotta wait six months for chemo. Free for all still needs to be funded by us taxpayers. Now I think paying say 5% of your weekly income for decent insurance should happen

Insurance should be 1 fixed price everyone pays once a year. It’s not fair you pay for car insurance then they raise the rates when you get into a car accident the whole point of the insurance was to cover in case of a car accident. Why are you raising it now? When the first amount of money paid in the beginning was for the accident insurance should be government run absolutely no profit whether it’s health or Auto or Home.

He was caught in less than a week. That is actually pretty fast. And it is disgusting that a large number of people think he is some kind of hero or was justified in murdering someone in cold blood. The reason the Insurance Company are using shady and immoral practices is because 99% of their customers allow them to. People need to stop allowing it by contacting them repeatedly about them not covering what they promised to. People need to know and understand their plans completely. They also should record and document all interactions, whether in person or on the phone, and save everything the Insurance company sends them. And they need to have a lawyer they can contact if needed. As long as people allow them to deny valid claims and use shady practices, they will continue to do it.
@darlsbarkley349312 күн бұрын
How do you expect anyone to successfully sue a company that netted 23 billion last year? Their legal team is extremely robust and they deny these claims because they've determined that it would be cheaper to fight those cases in court than it would be to cover those claims.
@mattk591712 күн бұрын
@darlsbarkley3493 Because in the rare instances when a customer does sue, a settlement is reached 95% of the time. So if people did sue when they are being denied valid claims, to the point where instead of 0.98% of customers sue they make it 60% or more sue then its no longer profitable to deny valid claims because the customers are no longer allowing them to do it. The reason UHC had netted the amount of profits they did is because 99% of their customers who were wrongfully denied claims allowed UHC to do it by not suing and holding them accountable and UHC and other companies will continue to do screw over their customers for as long as they allow them to.

We're headed into 2025 very soon and there are companies still rocking surveillance cameras from 2002. I can get a 4-camera/2K (1440 HD) res setup for $300 right now, $450 for a 4K setup. Wouldn't even put a dent in my savings. What's going on here? My prediction would be perceived as racist by a select few but I'll just say it has something to do with a certain group (not race) of people notorious for cutting corners and being _extremely_ cheap. So cheap in fact it hinders working conditions and upsets both the workers and customers but hey, at least the manager saved ten dollars.

Would you say the same thing if el Chapo got killed? Did you say the same thing when bin laden was killed? Neither of those guys have been responsible for as many deaths as health insurance companies. I'm type 1 diabetic. When I had insurance, I had a good plan. It literally cost more than my mortgage every month. Every month I had to go back and forth calling the insurance company, doctor, and pharmacy to get approval for my prescriptions. Sometimes it would take a week to get it worked out. You couldn't start that process until it had been 30 days since the last refill and the maximum amount they would ever cover barely lasted 30 days. Eventually, I found that it was cheaper and easier to buy insulin on the black market and not deal with insurance at all. I think you need to learn a little about American history. In 1776, our founding fathers decided that violence was the only solution and that's still the case today.
