Kim should've released a whole line for psoriasis since she has suffered with it for so many years. I think it wld have been received way better and gotten almost zero criticism.
@DesireUba
@DesireUba 2 жыл бұрын
She would find it hard to do that because psoriasis is a condition that requires medical treatment most of the time- not cosmetics. Legally, she probably can’t and also, she would not be able to target such a large audience- and make money.
@MonPetitCroissont
@MonPetitCroissont 2 жыл бұрын
When have the Kardashian avoided criticism though. Like really we all know that there is no such thing as bad publicity and the kardashians more than most seem to use that to drive themselves forward. A little bit of criticism and skepticism, and you suddenly have double the number of people talking about it than before
@sunscreenhoarder6558

Uh, no, psoriasis is an autoimmune condition, similar to eczema. Firstly, it's illegal to sell products claiming to cure medical conditions unless the products contain a drug proven to treat it. Secondly, it would be incredibly gross for her to exploit people desperate to treat it like that, as people will absolutely spend more than they can afford to try to do so.

If people started treating her like a real human she could fly regular airlines, but you know damn well if she walked into an airport the psychos an crazy fans come out the wood works. She can’t just go to an airport and hop on a plane without a huge commotion. I’m sure airlines would end up banning celebs like her if that became their regular routine

@@Koleys exactly. Im in no way a kim k fan or a fan of any of the family. But the whole private jet argument needs to stop. I dont get what people expect. High profile people are also targeted, they arent going to risk travelling with the public when they could be swamped by fans or worse, hurt!
@katagora8048
@katagora8048 2 жыл бұрын
@@jodziebear665 @KS It is entirely possible to create a system for high profile people to travel with the masses. But this will never happen because families like the Kardashians would never. Someone with that kind of fame and money will always take their private jet to their private island (evem during a pandemic let's not forget). The same rules do not apply to them, they are "above us", other than and they know that. Best we don't forget that either and hold them to the same standards we hold ourselves without excusing their behavior

The fact that her esthetician is telling people not to wear SPF is enough for me to disregard any advice she might have. I know from experience that you can get sun damage indoors. I sat at a desk near a window for three years and the side of my face that faced the window has way more redness, dark spots and freckles. I now wear SPF everyday even if I’m not leaving the house.

Yup. I also wear SPF every day in the office. My beauty hack in 2021 is the #touchbeauty ultrasonic device GLOW. Pretty helpful in cleansing and massaging. It works great for me so far. Deep cleanse but gently to remove the impurities in the pores. My skin feels a lot smoother! I'm using it more regularly for a weekly treatment to make a clean look at makeup. I like it so much. :)

The only difference between this brand and Kylie Skin is who it's being marketed to. Kylie Skin targets a younger audience and Kim is targeting an older audience (who presumably has more $$$). I doubt ingredient wise, this will be much different than Kylie Skin. I will give her credit for at least trying to be sustainable with refills. HA and Vitamin C are nice, but there are a LOT of products out there with those ingredients. It's basic and nothing revolutionary. If the vitamin c product is good and stable, MAYBE it might be worth it. But there's some other vitamin c products that are pretty good and affordable. It's just another cash grab, but I'm hoping people know that at this point. Anything the Kar-Jenners release at this point is a cash grab. Needless to say, I won't be buying this. I already have my excessive skincare routine and not looking to support that family.

@@lygophilia4127 oh definitely! This family rides on the coattails of other successful brands and just slaps their name on a product and BOOM! People believe them and by their products. Kylie Skin has ripped off on other brands. Her sunscreen is a dupe of Supergoop’s sunscreen. Kourtney’s Poosh brand is just a Kardashian version of Goop. I have no doubt that Kim’s skincare is going to rip off on other skincare brands. I’m sure she sees Kylie’s success in it and sees that other celebs have launch their own skincare brands (that no one asked for) so she wants to cash in while it’s hot.

I wish brands would stop pushing "sustainability", "biodegradable", or "environment-friendly". Starting a skincare or makeup line is creating waste from the beginning. Celebrities should just partner with well established brands. A friend of mine delivered thousands of environment-friendly, sustainable takeout containers and each container was wrapped in plastic.

I agree. And its funny to be coming from them, when theyre really not sustainable or eco friendly on their multiple trips on private jets as if its going to the cornerstore. People’s plastic and such, contributes a very small amount. Big corporations will never ever fall short in their contribution to contamination and environmental decline. Its just hypocritical and a buzzword to make you self conscious about our( normal people) very small carbon footprint, to get more sell$$$.

as someone who wants to start their own skincare line (i see a gap and am targeting a specific audience though it wont be limited to just them), i recognize that i would be creating waste from the get-go and am trying to find ways to minimize that waste and be as sustainable as possible. i do have an idea but without talking to someone who has experience with sustainability, sourcing, and manufacturing, im not really sure how plausible or costly that idea may be. sustainability is one of my biggest concerns but the reason why i hope to create the skincare line is also very important to me and i also believe it may be beneficial to lots of other people. ive also had a similar experience where i ordered something online and while the outside package was paper, the product was wrapped in plastic. i stood there and thought “what was the point”?

$600 on good skincare is unnecessary. Spend 1/10 of that and spend the rest on visits to aestheticians and dermatologists and you’ll have way better results. If you want to spend a lot on your skincare products, you can afford it, and you enjoy it, then go off. But for 99% of people, it’s not reasonable, and if you’re a results driven person, it’s not logical. Don’t buy the most expensive skincare products, buy the best formulated, most efficacious products that have the right actives.

If you look up the trademarks, the SKKN+ brand did not trademark the name until march 28th 2021. Kim trademarked her's march 30th 2021 and holds the trademark for that name on beauty products, household products, downloadable content, etc. The trademark for SKKN+ is for beauty and skincare salon services. Kim's trademark for those services is dead, meaning it was abandoned and if she chooses to provide those services, she can't use that name. Lori Harvey also has a skin care brand named SKN trademarked in August 2021. If you're going to spin it as Kim taking something from a black owned company, then Lori Harvey is doing the same thing and she is a black woman. Even Conair has a trademark for SKN for facial tools.

I bet you it's also a bid to stay relevant and in the media. Because skincare is trendier than makeup right now, it's probably much less about the customers and far more about coming out with a product that's designed to flex. She could have introduced this line quietly to people who could afford it, but she chose to really broadcast it to people who couldn't and would have these kinds of critiques, so I think it's a way of keeping the narrative on herself.

I recently watched a video commenting on how Kylie Cosmetics has fallen out of favor in recent years, and the person who did the review also commented on how bad and shitty the packaging is. (It appears as though they kept the hideous dripping lipstick lips and merely changed the packaging to Millenial pink.) It is my assumption that Kylie and Kim think their names alone will sell the product and that they don't need to spend much, if any, time fussing over the branding of their cosmetics. (Meanwhile, celebrity cosmetics brands Rare Beauty and Fenty Beauty have absolutely gorgeous packaging that feel crisp, clean, modern, and beautifully reflect the celebrities who founded the brand.)

As someone who has suffered with psoriasis I would NEVER spend $600+ on a skincare line that could potentially go down the drain just from a dramatic change. I always have to introduce products one at a time so I know which one has cause a flare up, less is better. With the amount of people that suffer she could make a lot of $$$$ marketing to psoriasis sufferers. Extremely unpopular option but I always get 1 hour of sun before 10am and sunscreen to hold up vitamin D otherwise I have a flare up. As Kim said it "selfish to not share information" even if the info is wrong hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 I'm most likely wrong but the benefit outweighs the risk for me personally.

I’m with you on the calculated sun exposure. Even as a melanoma survivor. At one point my body was covered with 80% plaque psoriasis. I’ve tried all kinds of RX topicals even Humira injections. My skin cleared up the most (without any RX) by avoiding inflammatory foods (dairy, processed sugar, etc.), calculated sun exposure like you said, GENTLY exfoliating with a sugar scrub, keeping it soothed and hydrated, taking vit c and k2+d3 supplements, drinking lots of water, keeping stress levels as low as possible. My skin was 100% clear before I went through a series of extremely traumatic events. I’m recovering from those events and my skin is on its way to being clear again. It’s such a difficult balance but it’s possible and I’m praying I get to being clear again at some point. Guess I needed to vent lol but I mainly just wanted to say to you that I know others might disagree but even having had a freakishly rare and aggressive form of melanoma I still believe in calculated sun exposure for the psoriasis and of course it’s got other benefits but I’m sure you know this. Have you noticed anything else that helps your psoriasis? May I ask how long you’ve been battling it? About 10 years for me now 🫤 Only cleared up 100% once for a few months before that string of traumatic events.

@@originaldana thankyou for sharing your story, I have plaque psoriasis of the scalp (eyebrows, armpits, pubes, anywhere there's hair) so getting rid of most of the hair on my body helps. I've had it as long as I can remember, classmates at the age of 5 asking me about it before I had the vocabulary to explain. It cleared up to about 5-10% around the age of 19, I was living a pretty stress free life, job of my dreams, then it all flared up again 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Stress. It will get better when I'm allowed to go back to work. I am greatful you've survived melanoma, I believe we evolved on this earth under the sun so it's light has benefits to us, like anything in moderation. I'm 30 now, it has flared up worse in the past week (winter here in Tasmania so we've just had the shortest day of the year and very little sunshine) so I've redone my undercut and made some more of my 6 ingredient body butter. I think the biggest thing that helps me is remembering I have done all that I can, and will do all I can to make myself comfortable and healthy. Unstress. My partner has recently started skyrizi injections, like you he has plaque psoriasis. When he first started on them he was 95% covered and had been that way since he was about 18. Now when he goes to the dermatologist they struggle to find some!!! I can't believe the medical breakthrough they've had with this one! 😁😁 it makes me so happy, he says this is as close the cured as you can get. I am greatful the medical system we have in Australia because we wouldn't be able to afford the $5000 dollar injections, he failed a lot of trials getting to that point. I adore your resilience to keep going and be able to find peace with your traumatic events so you can be the healthiest you possible. You never know when a medical breakthrough might help your journey. Oh and not drinking alcohol or eating greasy MSG foods, taste gross to me anyway haha. Thankyou again, It's so good to remember I'm not alone. Psoriasis is something that isn't talked about much considering the amount of people that are diagnosed.

Judging by her fleshy bodysuit, it seems like the coloring of the containers she went for is "nude" like skin, but with the dullness or whatever, they just look like cheap cardboard to me, not a luxury skincare line.

Why does Kim sound like a robot trying to sound human while reading from a list, unprepared about what they're gonna say.... who in their right mind supports those people and whyyyy

I’m not interested in this line, it’s to expensive but I love skims. I support the brand because it’s the most comfortable clothing I own. I’m plus size and it’s hard to find clothing that fits good and is comfortable. She did a great job with skims, it’s expensive but worth it imo.

@@SamanthaD89 Oh I totally get that, I'm happy this works for you. I meant I dont like the Kardashians as people and how harmful they are to the body image of so many people with plastic surgeries and photoshop and all they do for money.... they are not the only ones who do it and I dont really like anyone who ruins a person's self-esteem just to profit off of their insecurity. But as with many other things, it wont change because of a single person, so yeah, I get buying the stuff if it is what works for you - like with Shein, the problems isn't the poor people who buy from there because they have no choice, the problem is the industry and the rich influencers who buy without thinking and promote this type of behavior.

Good luck to everyone who thinks that wearing sunscreen indoors isn’t necessary. Sure you might not burn but you still get exposed. I get rash from UV exposure and guess what - I will get it when indoors if I have no sunscreen on. I used to be so upset about this rash but now I kinda think that at least it lets me know that my sunscreen is working.

I'll be interested to see how much product is in each bottle of the serums and oils. If it's anything like the KKW contour sticks you'll be paying a premium price for a lot less product. Also, the packaging looks really bulky and some don't look particularly user friendly. That exfoliator has an awfully big package for what's in it.
