It's really amazing how much can get done just by cooperation, but it only lasts while everyone cooperates.

I think the lesson is, cooperation is temporary. You take advantage of it when you can, but always be aware it won't last forever.

Good video, William. The question of why no one has claimed Antarctica has come to my mind before, but it's not something I've read much about. This is a helpful video. It's worrisome how fragile the agreement/treaty is. Good overview and nice work, William. I hope you are having a nice weekend.

Bit of a whoopsie at 0:41 with NZ's flag. Looks like you have mistakenly used one of the designs considered in the referendum which never passed.

I think he did that to differentiate it from Aus and the UK

Kind of a weird thing to point out, but I think you misunderstood the meaning of the word 'delimited'. At 1:28 'delimit' ('delimitar' in Spanish) means to define the limits of something. Thus 'areas which have not been delimited' means 'areas whose limits have not been defined'. Again, not really important since the meaning is pretty clear from the context, but I found this misunderstanding interesting. Anyways, I'll keeo on watching the video

You know, if there is one thing I wish we had more of from the late 1940s and early 1950s, its the idealism. Nowadays people are just angry about everything and despite all of our material comfort, are so pessimistic about everything.

Both claims overlap with Chile's as well.

They do! The British Commonwelath countries recognize each other. As far as I know, that's it.

Don't underestimate the Soviet and Russian desire to sacrifice their entire population and all their national resources to claim a pointless piece of land if there was one iota of benefit to the Soviet Russian State.
@hammer.12gh5 күн бұрын
The Soviet abd Russian desire? They're the same place and the Soviet Union hasn't existed for decades. Besides, this goes for empires throughout history, it's not exclusive to Russia. 🙄

Russia would never do it for such a far away place. The historical reasons why it did similar things in the past were different to this situation.
