Jazakum Allahu Khayran Bros Farid and Aarij, for this amazing session. What Bro Aarij mentioned resonates with me and I agree with him as I too had a similar experience. Based on my personal experience, I’d like to mention some key points or reminders that I hope will be handy to my Brothers and Sisters in faith who are struggling with doubts : 1- An important point, isolate the doubts you have and focus on what’s at hand, while sincerely asking Allah for guidance. Allah is All Knowing with Perfect Knowledge of everything, ask Him to guide you to the Truth. 2- Stick more to pious and knowledgeable people, engage more with them especially in your situation may it be offline or online. In my case had it not been for the pious and knowledgeable brothers surrounding me, only Allah knows what I’d be doing 😓. 3- Strive really hard to complete your daily obligatory activities. Push yourself to it. 4- Avoid Sins as much as possible and if you end up sinning, be really prompt in seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT. Sinning will only make things worse. 5- Try your best, to go out of your way to do something good for Allahs sake. It can be something as simple as smiling for the sake of Allah, or feeding a stray cat etc i.e something good. 6- As Bro Farid mentioned, keep in mind that the answers are out there and you’ll find it one day. Don’t lose hope and keep looking. To leave Islam for a doubt is just not worthed, especially given that our death is written at an appointed time which only Allah knows. As a side note, my Bros and Sis, I hope keep in mind that the Islamic scholarly tradition is vast !!! The questions you have, were definitely answered by someone. All you have to do is just find it. As Bro Farid mentioned his experience, he found his answers from a random audio lecture of Sunan An Nasa’i. SubhanAllah. I hope the above points help you in coping up with the doubts that’s bothering you. If possible, please share your thoughts in the comments also if you’re someone who had a similar experience with doubts, please share some points/reminders you found were key factors in helping you cope, so that I and others reading may find it beneficial. I read many atheist arguments watched many videos against The Quran and islam from my teenage years, it didn't shake my faith one bit. Many modern atheist writings use vulgar words to dehumanize Muslims. It made my faith stronger, didn't think for a second I'll leave Islam. Many leave Islam because they see those rituals as burdens, many are sexually frustrated, others develop an inferiority complex, and many other reasons, then they leave Islam, when they do, they go public (why?) then they try and justify their decision, because their struggle is an internal one, deep down they know it's the wrong decision, but they often find themselves in some kind of an endless vortex of emotional turmoil, and sometimes they come out at the other end unscathed, others who aren't so lucky can go on for a long long time or even for good. The reason they make their apostasy public is a cry for help, why else would ANYONE go to this trouble to try and convince complete strangers of something that is personal? Which shows that rationality goes out of the window with most of these people who leave their faith (Islam)

When I accepted Islam he was but in the loins of a disbelieving man’ - meaning Zaid bin Thabit - and it was regarding this that ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said: ‘O people of Al-‘Iraq! Keep the Musahif that are with you, and conceal them. For indeed Allah said: And whoever conceals something, he shall come with what he concealed on the Day of Judgement (3:161). So meet Allah with the Musahif.’” Az-Zuhri said: “It was conveyed to me that some men amongst the most virtuous of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah disliked that view of Ibn Mas’ud.” . This sermon to the Sahaba and Tabi’un are recorded in many places. This version is from Tirmhidi 3104 and was classed Sahih by Darussalam and Hasan-Sahih by Tirmhidi. It is also found in Bukhari 5000 and Muslim 2462 as well as Mustadrak 2896 which was classed Sahih by both Hakim and Dhahabi. Ibn Sa’d’s, Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir, Vol. 2, p.444 also records him as emphatically saying: “So conceal the manuscripts! I like it better to read according to the recitation of him whom I love more than that of Zayd bin Thabit.” But even more damning, is this quote from Musnad Ahmad: “I had heard seventy Surahs from the tongue of the Holy Prophet, shall I leave all those things that I had obtained from the tongue of Holy Prophet?” This narration was classed Sahih by Ahmad Shakir in Musnad Ahmad, Volume 4 page 88 Hadith 3929 and Hasan by Shuayb Arnaut in Syar alam alnubala volume 1 page 487.

@G but I did look into it I assumed you were mistaken in your citation but you weren't lying. One his being upset over Zayd ibn Thabit's Quran Mushaf gathered in the time of Abu Bakr. So the grievance with this is that of the sahaba ibn Masud is one of the greatest reciters and as a result was upset about not being asked to assist in the task (Zayd ibn Thabit was very young still older than ibn Abbas but still relatively young) Your second grievance is about "hiding his copy of the quran" so one thing to know is that all the companions had different pieces of the quran because not EVERY single one was present at the revelation of ALL of the 6000+ verses (Keep in mind it came piecewise over 23 years) so what Zayd says that he wants to keep HIS copy since that is what he heard directly from the Messanger SAW. As in was revealed or taught in His SAW literal presence. For example many other scribes wrote the Quran Muawiya AS wrote some as did Abu Bakr Ubayy ibn Ka'b. So when the Quran was standardized they brought all written records and whichever they had 2 of they standardized (others might possibly be hadith etc) so what happens is that we see Zayd treasures the knowledge Rasoolullah shared directly with him 70+ surah which is over half the Quran and almost over 3/4. There really isn't a problem here when you look up this topic you can find explanations from knowledgeable people. Most Hadith are quoted in short pieces so the context behind each hadith is important

Sameer never truly had any faith. If you watch his video he became Muslim because he thought Quran correlated withh science. All those so called scientific miracle of Quran was his aqeedah. His real faith was in science. Of course Quran is not a science book and many of these so called science are just major tarwio, science is always changing in theory, so when he saw Quran didnt quite match up he started abandoning it. Very useful talk and I certainly gained something from it. I didn’t see this lecture as a means to bash Sameer, but rather how does one’s faith become wrecked. A series of bad things happen, then we see the spiritual side of Islam hasn’t been working in our favor (faith, zakat, fasting), then we easily find ways to debunk and disbelieve the logical and intellectual parts of Islam...and that is how we lose our religion. Something I have noticed is when people lose their faith, it is based on emotions rather than coming to a logical conclusion. Sameer story reminds me a little of Charles Darwin. He was a religious Christian who abruptly lost his daughter while in the middle of questioning purpose of life and figuring out what religion truly meant, and after a short time he ended up as an atheist. Tough event occurred with Sameer while he was in a vulnerable state. One thing to realize is Allah will continuously test people in their lives with adverse events until the day they die, and it’s these adverse events which truly test how strong our faith is. These adverse events are like checkpoints along the way.

And with this seed of doubts and conflict with the ideology, when he approached Quran and other sources he easily got misguided as there are so many anti Islamic writings out there. Actually, Quran is a mirror. You will find Quran as what you have come with at it. It will show you what you intend to find within it. Yes i found out that this Ramadan. I started running and really running when fasting is so empowering. I was faster, i could take more and i could run 20km just like that. And then as soon as Ramadan finished I became slower somehow. Going running before Iftar helps eat well even.

Scientifically, in fasting, the body adapts to the lesser consumption of food. In essence, the body become lighter in weight let say, at 3 quarters of the day. we reduced body weight thereby increasing power to weight ratio. Psychological motivation is a bigger factor. During our military training, there is no significant drop in performance. We were even able to perform better when proper motivation was given. Performance did not go below median ranges. Despite a dehydrating exercise in the morning, we had slept during lunch time. But resumed physical training in the late afternoon. we were able to perform the same or insignificant drop in timing. We can deduce, we do not become zombies in Ramadhan. The first big battle of Badar, in ramadhan. Was among the first tests of faith. From what I see subhanallah a lot of the time people leave the religion of Islam is all psychological and the intellectual stuff is just a excuse, I have was was and doubts and I’m doing everything to clarify them and I hate them a lot and wish for all my doubts to go away. As Muslims we have to carry out worship and carry out the pillars of faith that are hard for Muslims who do not carry them out sincerely. But isn't it our struggle and sincerity in worship that will be rewarded, insyaalah, with rewards and heaven by Allah? My teacher once said, the way to heaven is full of struggles and difficult things that we need to do. Meanwhile the road to hell is full of pleasurable things that tempt us to follow it. I think an apostate is only because that person cannot resist his lust for all the temptations of the pleasures of the world. May Allah always protect us and guide us so that we are always on the path of Islamic truth. Amen.

I do dawah and there are asian or arab/ african people that tells you that were muslims , sometimes it's true, but most of them they just want to confuse you and make you leave Islam because they ahte it, and Allah spoke about people like this and misguide people from the path to Allah. We all know the west fights with all means Islam and actually the west looks for this type of people to work for them and pays them, examples are many, Robert spencer, Ayan hersi etc... they are every where But Allah will guide whom he wants and misguide whom we wants because Allah knows their inner reality and hearts of people and if you are not sincere Allah knows it well. We hope for these people to come back to Islam and if they don't it will not harm us if we have firm knowledge and practice the religion properly. I'm not convinced by his 1stbargument that if 1 pillar is weakened it induces the psychological confusion. It's the opposite. Everything begins with a THOUGHT. If you don't write it down and explore it, it begins to brew in your mind. Eventually life experiences that have very little to do with the original questions in that thought begin to reinforce that thought. It may haven a personal abuse cases by a parent or spouse but if you don't pull that thought out of your mind into reality you leave but grow. It begins to form associations with other experiences etc until one gets convince that entire thought complex has to be true. Humans have limited time and resources to clarify question that takes root in the original thought. Eventually it be ones too burdensome so the path of least resistance is to distance from it or anything that reactivates it. Eventually we use one of the 12 defense mechanisms to relieve the anxiety this has all caused us and over time that becomes our new personality. Always please pull these thoughts out and write them down. Look for the distortions in them and they go away. Therapists can help with this process. There are so many people who quit evils like hand jobs from therapy rather than years or Friday surmons.

Conclusion: The Quran says that there is no iddah for wives you do not have sex with. Oh wait….We just read earlier that prepubescent children do have an iddah when you divorce them. Why would she be given an Iddah if you could not have sex with her? You can marry and divorce a child all before she has reach puberty. The commentaries on this verse 65.4: Ibn Kathir: Allah the Exalted clarifies the waiting period of the woman in menopause. And that is the one whose menstruation has stopped due to her older age. Her `Iddah is three months instead of the three monthly cycles for those who menstruate, which is based upon the Ayah in (Surat) Al-Baqarah. ﴿see 2:228﴾ The same for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation. Their `Iddah is three months like those in menopause. Ibn ‘Abbâs: (And for such of your women as despair of menstruation) because of old age, (if ye doubt) about their waiting period, (their period (of waiting) shall be three months) upon which another man asked: “O Messenger of Allah! What about the waiting period of those who do not have menstruation because they are too young?” (along with those who have it not) because of young age, their waiting period is three months. Another man asked: “what is the waiting period for those women who are pregnant?” (And for those with child) i.e. those who are pregnant, (their period) their waiting period (shall be till they bring forth their burden) their child. (And whosoever keepeth his duty to Allah) and whoever fears Allah regarding what he commands him, (He maketh his course easy for him) He makes his matter easy; and it is also said this means: He will help him to worship Him well. Al-Jalalayn: And [as for] those of your women who (read allā’ī or allā’i in both instances) no longer expect to menstruate, if you have any doubts, about their waiting period, their prescribed [waiting] period shall be three months, and [also for] those who have not yet menstruated, because of their young age, their period shall [also] be three months - both cases apply to other than those whose spouses have died; for these [latter] their period is prescribed in the verse: they shall wait by themselves for four months and ten [days] [Q. 2:234]. And those who are pregnant, their term, the conclusion of their prescribed [waiting] period if divorced or if their spouses be dead, shall be when they deliver. And whoever fears God, He will make matters ease for him, in this world and in the Hereafter.
