I got tired of short staffing, rude coworkers, and unorganized management teams. Now I’m working in an office setting (as an LPN) doing case management. Yeah I’m on call but I get paid for anytime that work phone rings. I love it here honestly.

I'm literally whispering that I'm working in case management too. I'm a cna, but I have a year left before I get my bachelor's in business administration. It's crazy that I have my own laptop, cellphone, share an office with just one person. I left my job of 17 years as a cna 3 years ago, but i still pick up every now and then with the agency. chile I love it here!😂

In the elderly care sitting, you do loose skills, sad but true. But movement is a must to elevate your career. Don’t stagnate yourself to one area when nursing is so broad. In the hospital, you can see it all. You can make it even more colorful as a float there too, to even broaden you horizon. Any who, I wish you luck, and good fortune!

Girl I’m so sick of agency. I graduate from my LpN program in august and I can’t wait. Will be a nurse in October. I’m claiming it! I cant wait to get started in my new career. I know I want holistic care nurse practitioner. That’s what I’ve always wanted to do and not changing. But as a nurse I def plan to work in either long term care or VA hospital first. Work on RN/BSN and work in icu for a few years while working on NP.

Check to see if the facility have a nurse residency program. As a new grad RN you can go straight into ICU and they will train you. You should definitely see if they have that program.

The agency shifts have definitely dried up for day and night shift workers. I'm currently a LPN debating on going back for my RN...going to school with kids and bills is such a tough decision. I see my future being a NP but I don't even know if I will be able to juggle school as a single mom again 😂

Girl I needed this video!!! I signed up for agency but haven't done a shift yet. I have done SNF/ memory care. However, got a PRN hospital interview coming up. Im like I need to elevate and get more under my belt as a RN. I felt this video so much. I'm like men don't have to worry about any of this stuff. I feel you ..I have been feeling the same throw a baby in the mix lol..we already have a toddler. Hubby is about to start school too in like a few months ugh . Keep the videos coming love them.

If you want to be a CRNA just do a new grad residency in the ICU. That will be the best experience. The ortho floor is not acute enough to give you what you need

Listening to you is like listening to myself lol. I’m in my LVN to bridge program and wondering if I need to go staff after I get my RN. Wondering what state I’m going to live in and where I want to do my PMHNP program. I’ve worked so many specialties that whole Jack of all trades but not expert in anything hit. I love watching your growth. It’s relatable and real

CRNA is a good route for you, it really is. I'm happy for you. I'm a CNA finishing my Certified Veterinary Assistant course. I'm starting my Registered Veterinary Nurse (animal Nurse) program and then doing my LPN also. The problem is that I cant get into an LPN program and the RN program is just too expensive. I'm on the waiting list.

I’ve been loving this new series in hearing you speak on furthering your education and I can’t remember if it was this video or a different one but having another baby. I am in the exact same boat. Graduating with my RN next year then either ER or PACU then I want to go back to school. I’ve considered Acute care nurse practitioner, CRNA, and Anesthesiologist Assistant which is a masters program. Have you heard of Anesthesiologist Assistant? They’re only able to work in 10 or 12 states. Can you talk about your thought process on deciding CRNA ? How you crossed things off the list and how it works for you! Really looking forward to following your journey. Best of luck!! 🤞🏾❤️

I got my BSN in 5 months. For $800 out of pocket. You can get that BSN with your eyes closed. The only NPs I could think of that would go work the floor would be FNP. FNP don’t make much. The career family thing is real I have two small children but don’t kill me, I think you have a bit of anxiety 😂. Keep moving and stop thinking the sky’s the limit ❤

In this world it’s all about money and you’ll be blessed if you actually love your job while making that money. So I personally look at how much will I be making and then think about is that the type of job I wouldn’t mind doing and hope that I fall in love with it bc it seems interesting in the first place.

Have you thought about being a nurse in the Cath Lab and/or EP lab!? Those nurses be the happiest nurses on earth bc it’s awesome work life balance because the lab is closed weekend’s and holidays and it’s awesome pay. Lot’s of on call though bc they are closed over night, weekends, and holidays but extra pay is the business! I’m personally going for the Register Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist AKA Cardiovascular Technologist and will be making $40/hr right after graduation so I know the nurses in their get paid!
@dpaper7962
@dpaper7962 Жыл бұрын
I live in Maryland. In Baltimore city you’ll get paid the cheapest which would be $37 and some change per hr as a Tech in the Cath lab by the time I graduate May 2024 it’ll be $38 and some change but I’m planning to stay where I’m at and just transfer departments and get my annual raise so that’s how I’ll be at least $40/hr. And cost of living is average out here for an average 2 bedroom apartment being $1,200-$1,500 and that’s for nothing fancy but not so bad apartment.
