In the early 2000s, car reality TV shows became popular and were a sure way for networks to keep people watching them.
One of such automotive reality TV shows was called Overhaulin, and it was certainly one of the most-watched shows of its time.
Despite having extremely high ratings and having thousands - or even millions of fans at the beginning the show was remarkably short-lived and had only about five seasons
Interestingly, the fact that the first version of Overhaulin ended after five years despite massive fan love isn't the most interesting thing about the show.
When Overhaulin came to an end for the first time, people had loads of questions.
Why did it come to an end so quickly? Was the show hiding any dark secrets? Did the show have any unhappy car owners? Was there any behind the scenes politics that handicapped the show?

You don't pay taxes on the increased value of a car you already own. Taxes on automobiles are only assessed at the time of purchase.

I don't think you'd pay more taxes ..depends on the state tho . I sell toyota in tennessee and have never heard of being taxed other than right after purchase. However ..some states charge a percentage of the cars value for plates every year and that racks up fast. Here in TN we have 7% sales tax on cars , but only pay $133 for tags and registration regardless of what you buy .two miles away in MS it is 5% sales tax..but they charge a percentage of vehicles worth each year for tags and some folks have around $1500+for tags

Thank you for making this point. I love Foose’s creations, but the deception at the beginning of the shoe eventually caused me to grab the remote. There is usually nothing funny about practical jokes. A practical joke that goes on for eight days is unjustifiable torture. Chip’s dramatic choices weren’t fun. They were gut wrenching. He’s my favorite designer, but basing your show on a lie was just a tough premise to keep going.

The show got canceled, because Chris got his lights knocked out, for vandalizing a black corvette. When the owner of the car saw Chris, hitting the car with a guitar, the owner walked outside and hit him with a right cross to the face.

The show was good because they left the cars super, super good. But I didn't like that they always fixed the cars of well-known or famous people. Instead of fixing cars for people who really needed it

They could have bought the vehicles at a agreed upon price and still do the work and then auction the cars afterwards... Because people would end up selling the cars afterwards...Then the money 💵 from the auction could be used to flip the next car... But I lost interest in Chip F . After the fallout with Boyd Coddington. Boyd Coddington made Chip who he is today...Hint ..Boyd Coddington wheels .. 🤔 Boyd Coddington got the short end of the 🏒 stick ..
