There were 4 kids in Ruby’s custody. When the arrests happened 2 were at Ruby’s house and 2 were at Jodi’s house. The 2 at Jodi’s house were the two that were found and sent to the hospital. All 4 are in CPS custody. Ruby had 6 kids in total the oldest 2 are legal adults at this point.

I am 70 and not barely a day goes by that I don’t remember the sorrow and humiliation. I wish those dear children grace and healing. It made me bawl when Josh said “don’t tell me you tried…bc you failed!” People don’t understand how hard it is to save children when you have PROOF nowadays. We couldn’t even save our own family! The calls, the trips to courthouses, police reports, CPS calls and visits and YOU are made out to be a liar. The frustration, sleepless years, the tears, heartache and guilt is real of a survivor/rescuer. Until they walk in your shoes they have NO IDEA the hell we continue to live daily with “failure” (their words not ours). Normally child protective services would start contacting relatives to see who was going to take the children. The fact that they did not give the children to the father or to anyone else in this family says that the net is being cast far and wide and no one is outside of suspicion for these abuses.

Heard that there was several agencies involved at the scene including federal authorities. If the Feds were involved in this then that means that Ruby and Jodi were already under investigation and this could turn into a much bigger event then anybody is thinking. This could go way past just the Griffith family and could include other families that took advice from those two.

Raised IBLP, homeschool then yanked out of school age 13. I am a retired public school teacher and know that it is a massive effort to ID kids who are abused and whose lives are in danger. Yet it is tremendously easy in some states for abused kids to just disappear. This is a perfect example of If you see something, say something! If you see kids outside picking weeds in 115° weather and you think that a lot of things they do are suspicious then make a phone call. Do it anonymously if you would like. It doesn't matter just make a phone call. Have someone go check on them. It couldn't hurt. I understand child protective services isn't the best and they drop the ball a LOT but it's still worth making the call, getting the incidents documented.

But unless there's evidence of a crime, the police can't do much..... even now where I live, a whole family is missing. I've called police, I've said things.... but they say oh maybe they went overseas, their immediate family isn't asking about them. Their car is in the drive, there have been weird cars parking in their drive in the middle of the night. I haven't seen ant of them for 4 months now.... like their place is abandoned. The whole family said Police and CPS FINALLY listened. The family came out and said they had been reporting the abuse for years. They can legally only do so much. Ruby and Kevin were always very controlling and especially once Ruby joined Connections, she completely cut off her family. They likely weren’t even able to try to get the kids for a visit. Even neighbors reported they spoke up but nothing was ever done.

The thing about the kids pulling weeds in high temperatures reminds me of the book Holes. The kids were sent to some kind of juvenile detention camp where they had to a dig a large hole every in the dessert with very little food and water. Jodi is sick for punishing the kids that way, but Ruby is even worse for allowing her to do it. It's terrifying the neighbours thought the kids were going to leave the house in bodybags.

When I heard about Russel being forced to stay out in the heat until he had severe sunburns & his skin was falling off, regularly, it also reminded me of Holes, & Jodi's motivations were just as selfish & demented, if not worse. Especially with the issues I’ve heard in younger dance groups, around toddler age. I’ve heard of parents not being able to be there with there kids like when they are changing and that’s just a big hell no. Either you allow them to come in what they will wear or they will wear street clothes. I also don’t like the costumes choices that they have for little girls it’s just too revealing. I understand why they wear what they wear but I just don’t see it being appropriate for small kids. It does sound weird that they recommend I put her in the pageant bc she is pretty, but I’m in a small southern community where everybody knows everybody so it’s always been someone I know that says it. They don’t meant anything wrong by it but people just don’t realize how many disgusting perverted people are out there. That’s why when they suggest it I do tell them no and why I don’t feel comfortable with it.

About Jodi’s house. I live in Utah. No, I’m not Mormon. The housing development Jodi house is at is called Kayenta. These homes are upscale earth toned homes on 1/3 - 2 acres. My husband and I were looking at homes or lots to buy there years ago. These homes are NOT compounds, Lol. They are eco/ environmentally friendly homes and lots. You have to keep your yard/ property as is {keep the natural desert plants where they are, so the environment and wildlife are not disrupted too much.} This large neighborhood attracts artists {which is part of the reason we were wanting to move there.} There’s an art village there. Spa’s, and beautiful walking trails.

Your are welcome to believe as you wish. He certainly played a more passive role than Ruby but that doesn't excuse the role he played and the fact that he abandoned his children to her care knowing what she is capable of. His two youngest children were literally starving and all of them except Shari (she actually may have been but it was not seen in any video I watched) were in fear of their mother. Here’s the deal, aunts, uncles, bio family of any kind, has ZERO authority over what parents do with their children UNLESS the law steps in. That book was what made me go to University to get a degree in Social Work and now work solely in child protection. There was so, so many red flags the way she withheld food as punishment, cancelled Christmas for some children, I believe, not very Christian of her 🤬🤬 making a growing teenage boy on a bean bag could have done god knows what to his bones, ligaments etc at that age they grow like weeds and need extra nutrition and room to grow!!! The way she overreacted to a bit of spilt nail polish, then tells the kids they could have just been killed in an accident that was nowhere near them and she wanted to make content of a severly traumatising event for other people?? I can't automatically hate on Kevin, or other family members, without hearing his side because I know how hard it is to fight for your kids, at least I hope he has been fighting for his kids. Right now there is a lot of speculation without evidence from those speculating. It took me 2 years to get justice for my kids that were being abused by their dad. DCFS did nothing. The police didn't do anything, they said they couldn't get involved in "civil cases." The judge kept pushing back court dates for months, eventually years. If I would have kept my kids from their dad outside of our custody order I would have been arrested and then would not have been able to keep fighting for them. My daughter ran away from her dad's house multiple times to come to my house. My son was beat and strangled with a belt!! It didn't matter what my son told them, it didn't matter that he was bruised all over his backside and around his neck. NOTHING was working, until I got a new lawyer that did not back down. Reading that even the neighbors of the Franke's weren't getting through to the authorities makes me believe that maybe (hopefully) the family was trying off camera to get the kids help.

I know he was there, present in the house, up until a year ago. I can say that I never personally saw him being the one to do the punishing, etc to the kids. I am so afraid to raise a child alone in this world. But I ran out of time. The doctor said I do this now or likely never. Am 36, had 2 miscarriages while I was in relationships, but now doing IVF alone bc of expected menopause around 38 due to cancer treatment at 29. So it’ll be just me, my baby, and my dog. As a foster parent i can say that cps ( obviously it depends on the case worker you get) will hesitate to do anything about it because the amount of kids that are involved the more kids parents have the more cps hesitates to get involved and the more the will overlook. Heart is so sad for the children. Hoping and praying their bodies will be okay from all the malnutrition. But mostly for their emotional well being. Even if given best counseling, and EMDR, I don't see how they can ever truly feel normal or safe again. Just please pray for the kids

I’m speechless!!! It doesn’t surprise me though because I agree that this happens in Mormon culture because it’s so strict and it’s their way to rebel in private with other Mormons who want to experience the same. I agree! I have been saying this for years because I was raised in a strict house which made me rebel. I was born and raised catholic. I have also noticed that there are many, many murders and SA’ers that came from strict households.

The lunch thing is so dumb. Like obviously it’s a good live skill. But 23 year old EF can learn that when she forgets her lunch once or twice at work. 6 year old EF needs her mom to make her lunch.

In the early videos they used to laugh at Eve when she was naughty and thought it was hilarious! Ruby didn’t do anything about it and let her run wild! I’m sure that as Eve got older it wasn’t so cute anymore and probably abused her to make her stop being naughty but went the other end of extreme with it! So going from not doing anything to discipline Eve to abusing her!

That´s what mormons do. They use their church tasks to make themselves look good, helping and serving people. But at home they fail big time. There´s tons of abuse going on and they think it´s normal.

Supposedly the younger two were seen as “distorted” and it’s speculated that they where living with Jodie while the older girls where living at Ruby’s home - which corresponds to Jodie’s statement as she said the younger ones shouldn’t be around other children when arrested - this to me feels like the children were starved and abused as a way of repentance for their “distortion” which we see in a lot of cults which is sick

I can't just believe some guy's story time telling at face value. While I know these things DO happen, I think many people are going to come out with fake stories to capitalize on it, in which ever way possible. I've watched enough true crime to know there's this and worse, but I don't buy it just because he said so.

Agreed. It doesn't make sense that he went back after the first party after claiming to be so uncomfortable at the first one. It doesn't matter if my SO begged and begged to go, if I was that uncomfortable I would not be returning. Unless there is concrete proof, I'm not going to take this story as pure truth.

I believe it. He used to be a family vlogger. He used to do videos with all of them. Ellie and Bonnie used to try to get Joel and Jared to kiss. They all flirt with each others husbands all on their vlogs. Daily bumps live In California. They are good friends with Ellie and Jared. They visit each other often.
