If bringing a handful of talent wins rings, the early 2010's Lakers with Nash, Kobe, Gasol, and Dwight wouldve won. Lob city with Paul, Griffin, jordan, and etc would've been successful. The early Nets with Deron, KG, Paul Pierce would've did well. I agree GIl and BJ probably didnt sacrifice when it was needed, but a jumble of talent doesnt mean itll work, chemistry and compatibility is first i feel, which leads to good production on the court.

Look at the first half of the year when they still had Quickley, Grimes, RJ, etc. Knicks didn't have anybody in the top 10 in minutes in the NBA during the regular season. Personally, I'd have gone to Alec Burks sooner in the post-season. That being said, the reality is that Thibs went to this shortened rotation at the end of the year. Coaches are known to tighten their rotation during the playoffs (albeit Thibs took it to an extreme). The point I'm making is that Gil's talking as if Thibs has always ran his rotations exactly the way he did at the end of last season. It's just not true. Otherwise, Brunson, Hart, Divincenzo, etc. would all have averaged much higher minute totals throughout the year. That's a pretty simple point.

It's not gonna be a player for player sub. There will be some form of rotation where divo and hart get 20+ minutes. The Knicks have multiple players who play multiple positions. And being fair, OG and Mitch will miss time. None of the players are gonna play 82 games.

There best option is probably pure small ball with: OG always at the 4 Randle always at the 5 Bridges playing back up 4 (starting 3) Robinson restricting his minutes as just a back up 5 that you use when it makes sense. If you combine those four with with Brunson, Hart, DiVincenzo, you have a 7 man Thibs playoff rotation.

What they didn’t talk about is that they have no solid backup center. Which means they will play small ball when Mitchell Robinson comes out, and Donte and Hart will still get significant minutes. Plus, it’s the NBA, people get hurt and take games off so they will still be similar (though slightly less impactful) contributors as they were last year.

Brunson Bridges Annoby, Randle, Robinson Starters Josh Hart, Divencenzo, Jericho Sims as the rotating big….Landry Shamet as the depth 9th guy Randle for KAT as swap or Markennden in Utah or Evan Mobley in Cleveland based on need.

Let’s take a realistic approach. While it would be ideal for the Knicks to maintain full health throughout the season, we must acknowledge that injuries are likely to occur. Mitchell Robinson and OG Anunoby have struggled with injuries in the past, and Julius Randle has also faced some challenges. Additionally, both Josh Hart and Divo will need to maximize their playing time as the season progresses.

I'm sure Josh hart and Divincenzo are not complaining about not playing 48 minutes every night, the depth is important, I'm sure even OG happy too cause he's the injury prone one and they have depth in those positions and depth that also provide really good defense as well as spacing. There's ways you can play OG and Randle for 30 minutes a night each, when you have that kind of depth them guys who are injury prone can split that time, even if Bridges plays 36 minutes a night Divincenzo and Josh hart could easily average at least 24 minutes a night between the 3,4 and the 5, at least 7 guys will play 24 minutes, the other minutes are McBride and Achiuwa

With this roster!!! Tibs shouldn't be playing anybody over 30 mins game. This is the deepest Knicks bench in decades. Most people who have opinions on the Knicks don't watch them daily. They needed help whenever one went down. In the regular season the Knicks had a losing record without Randle. This team is going to be fun as hell to watch this year
