Hi -- good question... if you're referring to an egg-free mayonnaise, sometimes referred to as salad cream, that is exactly how it is made. The quantity of xanthan gum would be about double -- ie. 5ml to 240ml oil and 45ml lemon juice or vinegar. If you're using eggs, the xanthan gum is really not necessary. Thanks for watching!!!

Hi Misbah --- yes, you can use xanthan gum to thicken your shampoo. Xanthan gum is very tolerant to most ingredients, with the exception of alcohols exceeding 60% ABV and sugar concentrations exceeding 60%. To thicken the shampoo to a syrup consistency, you will need 0.8% xanthan gum to the liquid. You will need to sheer the powder into the liquid with the aid of a stick blend, or in a stand blender. Whats4Chow I have another question... how to mixed xanthem gum into shampoo...kindly tell me the procedure...should it be directly mixed into shampoo or mixed in water???

Hi Misbah --- add the xanthan gum to the shampoo at a rate of 0.8% (8ml per liter) --- use a stick blender or a stand blender to sheer this into the liquid until it has thickened.
