A while back we came up with the philosophy that failing quickly is the quickest route to success. If you make mistakes slowly over time, it slows down the route to success. We took the concept of fast forward and made fail forward. In some ways it's poking fun at the fear of failure, because you rarely hit upon success straight away,. What you have is a solid tribe, your audience. Way forward is to focus on the tribe and cater for those and a by product will be fast forward growth, all from the understanding that making mistakes is the only way to learn and grow your idea base, your tribal base and everything else falls into a completely more advanced place than your wildest dreams could have expected. So be proud of your failures as much as your successes, build, imagine, create. Bring smiles to people's faces, because what the social algorithms like is trusted content and of course positivity which this podcast has in spades. Onwards and upwards, avanti!

Guys I listened to this on the podcast. It was like I was TRUMAN from the film The Truman show 😆 I posted on another video a while ago about coaching. I agreed with you then and again I agree with you all. I coached kids ( 10-11 ) boys and adult Ladies University team in New Zealand. It’s exactly the same. I own a building business and coach for the love of the game. But it absolutely does consume you. I’m dealing with work then having to get to training and come up with drills after a hard and stressful day. I had to motivate my players while struggling for motivation myself. I decided this year not to do it. Focus on my business and survive the recession. Even at grass roots level you get abuse. You guys have done a fantastic job, I enjoyed the behind the scenes videos. You do what’s best for you. It’s your lives. People will judge you but never have seen the mountain you have climbed to get there. Tintin the panto villain has come on leaps and bounds. Believe in yourself slaney.

Good luck to them all. I think a bit more of an acceptance that the coaching and management team just weren't good enough. Si signed badly and his coaching staff were brutal. He had to do it all himself because he didn't select the right people around him. Broaders is right stuff happens in life but feel they are lacking quite a bit of self-reflection and awareness.

Thorough explanation (particularity on the financial state of the club before/after) - I reckon you could hear and see the stress via the weekly pet-peeves on the other podcasts. I felt the quality had suffered somewhat and that’s a reflection of how important Si is to the podcasts. Assuming guys hoofed the ball up the park until you came in or weren't exposed to "high standards" like your standards are some sort of new thing. Should the decision not be made at the end of the season? The decisions itself is bad enough as it’ll affect so many of these boys futures who dropped from higher levels to be here like broaders but now that’s it’s been made now how difficult will it be for any of the players to be motivated for the rest of the season? Easy enough for Kirk Broadfoot (former European level Rangers player in late 30s) to deal with and handle this but what about all the young boys sold a false dawn? And the point about the boys been given exposure they didn’t have is nonsense, that was a plus point for you guys to get the management job and it doesn’t nullify the fact that you still promised they guys a long haul project which has been abandoned after 1 year. Needs to be some admittance here, feel like it’s a loft of excuses, just a bit of respectful recognition of the poor part they played. Fair play for the honesty nonetheless.

Pretty much the definition of a vanity project. Manage a lower league team with an expected budget that outstrips everyone else so that Ferry can look good bringing a team up through the leagues. Said it himself that he could have just grafted at Peterhead until a valid opportunity arrived but took a shortcut that he thought would make for good content. Turns out it's harder than it looks
@davidkelly790

I think changing the clubs name to Open Goal Broomhill makes it look like a vanity project. Hiring mates and mates family really isn't a good look for Si. Saying that, I thought the documentaries were excellent and it was good seeing inside the changing room and what they were trying to do. A lot of people think that real life football is like these management simulation games, the reality is so far from it. They mentioned it here, clubs lower down the leagues turn over 20 plus players every summer., 3 or 4 year deals don't happen. Their budget didn't outstrip everyone else though, just right off the bat the guys at Celtic and Rangers B teams will be on ten times what anyone else in that league is on. You could possibly say that Hearts B will have guys on several times what anyone else in the league is on.

Genuinely surprised by this episode lads. I had no idea. Si , I thought you were doing a good job. Team looked like they were playing and doing well. I feel for Broaders, who was obviously "sold a dream" but like he said he ain't gonna cry and stop playing. Simon I think should have went solo and got a different crew in but I can understand why he took the rest of the team. Maybe next time, he will go solo or with others such as Faddy and Fergie. No slight on Slaney but he is man with too many masks and none of them make sense. However, I think the Podcast will continue to go from strength to strength and hoping Si does one to one interviews again in the future and losses the side kick. Good luck guys .

Fair play for giving it a go and love the podcast but surely if the long term objective was to ‘go up through the leagues’ then they needed to persevere longer than a season. League was never going to be won in the 1st year. Rattling off the team and how none of them were regular players at a decent level isn’t cool. Si specifically targeted these players to build a team, maybe should have brought in more established players in the league if that’s how he felt about them cause when he was bringing them in, he was raving how sought after some of them were. And to say even when on a losing run they never changed philosophy. If you keep doing the same thing, getting the same results, maybe you need to be adaptable/flexible in your approach and change it, if it’s not working. Good on them giving it a go, been interesting to follow the journey, pity they didn’t see it through longer term. I’m sure they’ve learnt loads from the experience that will help them in many aspects of life going forward. Life isn’t always easy though, sometime you need to have a more balanced approach, be able to take a step back and adopt a reflective practice where you look at challenges/situations from a different perspective. And also have the discipline to have a work/life balance, especially at part time football, be disciplined and organised in time management, if it’s giving you sleepless nights.

I really do wish you all every bit of success in life and i will still always have a soft spot for Broomhill and i will get to games when i can. Fair play for coming out and stating this, didn’t have to. Been blatantly obvious Si couldn’t do both - it was obvious from the podcasts he’s been presenting. It’s no failure to not manage to devout everything to both - don’t think anyone could do it. Fair play

Don't know why they are chucking it, according to Ferry he's improved everything and it was all a success. Ferry suck it up, you didn't keep your end of the bargain, mainly getting the results and you and the project ultimately failed because of your shortcomings. His problem is he talks a good game but can't back it up. Has slated guys like McTominay over and over yet he's played for a massive club for a number of years and has just bagged 4 goals for Scotland. Ferry is a bit clueless and from all accounts a massive hypocrite and from his own words he's not cut out for management 'couldnt deal with...........' this, that and the other. Destined to fail.

What’s his management got to do with McTominay 😂😂
@LT-nd3ov
@LT-nd3ov Жыл бұрын
@@cameronmacleod Just a number of opinions he has that are well wide of the mark and often completely wrong. If you can't see how that might be reflected in his ability to be a good manager or not i.e making good judgement calls as opposed to poor judgement calls then I'm not sure you are being honest. Aside from that he's just not cut out for management. He said multiple times in the interview he couldn't handle certain aspects of the role...like a loss for example. I'm afraid that's going to be an integral part of management, I e bouncing back from losses. He also said he couldn't handle the workload, he also said he wasn't ready for the amount of work involved and also wasn't aware of the size of the task. All bad traits when wanting to move into management, if he can't cut it here and now then he won't last at a bigger club with bigger expectations. His playing career is an example of that. Riddled with bad habits and a bad attitude, he has said so himself, multiple, multiple times. I see no difference in this. After the original buzz and new manager bounce, the results fizzled out, it was a downward trajectory and he was unable to halt the decline and threw in the towel. He's better off on the podcast talking nonsense and having a laugh. The contradictory nature of what he says on it then isn't highlighted 10 fold when his team is getting hammered at the weekends. Constantly talking about bein on the sauce then hammering his underpaid part time players for having a drink is kinda pathetic and he totally undermines himself bcos of it.

People need to get back to enjoying life and give some kudos when its due and it will pass on like these lads have passed on there blood sweat and tears and involed us along the journey
