This is a corporation with shareholders and a board of directors in which Triple H isn't the CEO. He's head of creative direction for like half of the company. Dwayne Johnson is on the board of directors and what he says goes over Triple H; there's no ambiguity or leeway here. And Paul Levesque knows this because he's been under Vince for a very long time with no signs of him going into business for himself. This idea requires Triple H to go into business for himself and directly go against the people that own TKO and their demands. If we assume he did that, why would the Rock go along with the storyline where he's a heel and Triple H is a face? Also, as you say, the Rock made like one appearance the entire year before the Royal Rumble. That's it? If this was booked a long time ago, he made all of one appearance? Not even 3 or 4 where he consistently sets up this dream match? He also didn't even participate in the Rumble itself. Why not? How is this discrepancy explained? We could have easily just had him come in at 30, beat everyone and win. Triple H is booking the show, yeah; but if Dwayne told him he was coming in at 30, the guy is coming in at the 30 no doubt. The best explanation, the most clear explanation, the explanation that paints everyone in the best light in the long run is that Cody wins the Royal Rumble and THEN Dwayne Johnson comes in and decides he finally wants his match with Roman at Mania now that the product is white hot and the Rock's reputation is as low as it's probably ever gonna go. So they do the crap with Seth, it doesn't work, Rock realizes it's gonna get demolished if they try to run his dream match in Philadelphia and allows Cody to have the spot he earned back. And now he can get his ten minute spot fest "let's cut it in half because I'm injured" match with Roman at Summerslam or the next Mania or something and Cody can get the championship belt he earned.

Imagine you thinking it's OK that Rock and Roman's story got ruined for someone elses story that had 0 to do with WM. Cody did not get his story ruined or sbastoged because it was still going to happen as Brian said. But now how do you tell the story they built where Roman is a heel and The Rock comes in to put the family back in order? You can't and it's quite sad anyone thinks that's OK for a guys story that did not need WM.

This is the Guy that the Rock has to thank for all of his Success in and outside the Ring! Brian use to be the best writer WWE had for many years but out of all his success with many other pro wrestlers the Rock took the cake he just knew the Rocks character and just knew how to write for him! The man is awesome and has a good understanding of the product and knows how to work a crowd, he’s himself put the final touch to the Rocks character the Cemented to Rock to super stardom!! Point blank yes the Rock was very talented and knew how to perform and control the crowd on his own but Brian got him to the level the he is at! I glad they all working together I figured that him , the Rock, and trips work all well together so people can’t ever say trips hasn’t changed cause he certainly has and in sure has grown a lot from the attitude era! I can’t wait til they truly talks about how everything unfolded behind the scenes!
