In Chinese mythology, the Fire God Zhu Rong and the Water God Gong Gong engaged in a fierce battle due to unresolved conflicts. During their fight, Gong Gong struck the celestial pillar, causing it to collapse. This left a gaping hole in the sky, unleashing catastrophic floods upon the earth (similar great floods are recorded in many ancient civilizations). To save the world, the Mother Goddess Nuwa-creator of humanity-refined multicolored stones to mend the sky, sacrificing herself in the process. Among these stones, one was left unused. Over countless ages, this multicolored stone absorbed the essence of heaven and earth, ultimately giving birth to Sun Wukong.

In the worlds before Monkey, primal chaos reigned. Heaven sought order. But the phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown. The four worlds formed again and yet again, As endless aeons wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of Heaven, the moisture of the Earth, the powers of the sun and the moon All worked upon a certain rock, old as creation. And it became magically fertile. That first egg was named "Thought". Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said, "With our thoughts, we make the world." Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch. From it then came a stone monkey. The nature of Monkey was irrepressible!

There is a 1970s Japanese TV show that was dubbed into English in the UK and only screened in Australia as it was free that is still well known now. They remake the movie every couple of years in China, it would be like having two Lord of the Rings movies competing with each other and they 100% did it. Is a bunch of TV series too. The novel is from the 1500s so it’s even older than 400 years and the idea of Sun Wukong predates the novel itself. China may actually have been the best country at preserving its myths. There are pieces missing and biases aplenty in Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology. India kept a lot of Hinduism’s stories, but you have to remember that Hinduism has still been actively practiced in India this whole time, so it’s less of a mythology and more of a living religion.

The Monkey King (Sun WuKong) is the transition alike to our life at the young age till the age of 20's whereby we are still having a lot of energy to battle for a better life. The Piggy (Zhu Bajie) is the transition of among all into adulthood whereby we are in the process of maturity experiencing lust, greed, addiction and being unable to justify appropriately. The Zhang Wuji represent as we are at age over 50's we are less to be involve into the game of life which everyone is always being lied about. And being protective to survive as much as possible. The Great Monk Tang (Tang ShanZang) is whereby a person throughout the journey who practice preserverance and achieved known as Tripitaka Buddha in the end.

Chinese Buddhism (Han Buddhism). Dont associate it with India Buddhism. There is a huge difference between the two. Chinese Buddhism is 3 religious combinations 1 . 三教合一 . ( 道Taoism+儒Confucianism+釋Buddhism ). China retains the content of the Buddhist scriptures. Simple Indian Buddhist ? ancient Chinese do not accept it "Taoism" has formed Chinese culture and Chinese philosophy. (Heaven) "Confucianism" regulates the moral concepts and etiquette of the Chinese. (Human world) "Buddhism" affects the concept of life and death of the Chinese. (hell) From its inception, " Chinese Buddhism" has been influenced by native Chinese religions and philosophy, especially Confucianism and Taoism, but also Chinese folk religion. Before the emergence of Buddhism, the Chinese did not have the concept of hell. So when the Chinese described hell, they would quote Buddhism. In Chinese Buddhism, all Buddhas are Chinese. Otherwise, the ancient Chinese would not have accepted it. Initially, the ancient Chinese very much rejected Buddhism (which seriously violated the culture and spirit of Taoism and Confucianism. Cutting off hair and being irresponsible to family and work Responsibility). Some interest groups promoted Buddhism in China. Add a lot of Taoist and Confucian culture. Radically transform Buddhism into a Chinese religion. (preserve the content of Buddhist scriptures). Let the ancient Chinese believe that Buddhism is a Chinese religion. Only then can they accept Buddhism. * The only job of ancient Chinese monks was to save the souls of the dead. All Chinese Buddhas and styles are Chinese in China. Their appearance, clothing and culture are all changed to Chinese (or Taoist gods). Some use the same phonetic name. Represent the same function or incarnation. In Chinese Buddhism, everything non-Chinese is excluded (except for the words in Buddhist scriptures). In Chinese Buddhism (Han Buddhism), anyone as long as anyone opens wisdom (let go of desire). He can become Buddha. There is a saying in China: " 放下屠刀立地成佛 A butcher becomes a Buddha the moment he drops his cleaver. "人人都是佛 Everyone is a Buddha. 滿街都是聖人The streets are full of saints.". In history, many ancient Chinese have become Buddhas. So many Buddha statues of different images in China are those ancient Chinese (most of them are monks).
@MetaNerdzLoreАй бұрын
Crazy after all that they name it after some Indian guy. I know what you mean, but I also know that you are trying to ignore the fact it is influenced by the Indian Buddhism at some level. Kind of in the name Buddhism. Reminds me of European ethnocentric Christian types that don't like the Jewish origin of Jesus, and do rightly point out how some Germanic merging of native and Christian concepts created a new thing, but it is silly to ignore the fact that they still use the name Christ, and the Chinese call it a type Buddhism. Just go all the way and say Siddhartha was actually Chinese, and Jesus was from an Aryan settlement.
@barbiebarbie1813Ай бұрын
@@MetaNerdzLore Buddha is not a god. It is a concept. The ancient Chinese did not accept any gods and India Buddhas at all. This is why the Buddhas in China all look Chinese. The Buddhas in China are all Chinese. They have their own Chinese stories. Their parents Even Taoist gods. They live in Heaven (Taoist palace). In Chinese Buddhism, Buddhas are made by people through practice. They are Chinese themselves, Buddhas not gods (Chinese gods refer to Taoist gods). So anyone can become a Buddhas. The biggest characteristic of Chinese Buddhism is that it must completely exclude foreign races and cultures (for example: India). It must be completely Sinicized (only Buddhist scriptures are retained). It must be comprehensively transformed with Chinese philosophy and culture before it can be accepted by the Chinese. This is the most basic. The Chinese have their own concept of Buddhism (other countries and nations also have different ideas about Buddhism). Please do not impose your own ideas on Indians.Because in ancient times (about 500 year), when Buddhism came to China, Buddhism was concepts have completely changed. by China Taoist and the Chinese from the very beginning.
@MetaNerdzLoreАй бұрын
Why is it called Chinese Buddhism, why is the term Buddhism used at all? Why does nobody say that Confuciusism and Taoism come from India? Again, I can do everything you did with Christian Norse Vikings or even Native Americans, who can find a way to say their culture had the Christ and we can all be Christ, but I would think it odd for someone to say that a Navajo Christian church has no connection to the jew Jesus of Nazareth. Don't get caught up in that some say jesus is literally the same as father God creator, just see him the same as buddha, because u know there are buddha sects that have him in the role of God as well. I'm not saying Chinese Buddhism is identical or without Chinese cultural influence, but you are being obtuse, obviously it is influenced by India even if only in name and general concept. And knowing that there is a history of stereotype of Chinese looking down on Indians, it reminds me of Aryans that want to say Jesus wasn't Jewish. You also have to know there are many different types of Buddhism from seeming fully atheist to having gods and super powers. So of course it is different in China. It is different in India just miles apart.

@@MetaNerdzLore Jesus wore Jewish clothes. The story is in Israel. His parents are also Jews. The background of the story is also in Israel and other places. Europe has also been affected by religion and wars have occurred in the country. Jesus was clearly a Jew (Catholic/ Christianity still has a lot of original European content). But the situation of Chinese Buddhism is completely different. The characteristic of Chinese Buddhism is that it particularly excludes India (or Different cultures). Chinese Buddhism mainly retains Buddhist scriptures and contents (A large number of Buddhist stories are Chinese original in China). But for the ancient Chinese to accept Buddhism, Buddhism must be completely Sinicized. Some China Buddhists will quote the names and positions of Indian Buddhas (such as protectors or gods of hell, etc.). It means that this Chinese person has studied Buddhist scriptures and achieved certain achievements. He is named as having certain characteristics of Buddha. Other creations of new Buddhas are the ancient Chinese peoples. Anyone can become a Buddha in China. Chinese Buddhas are all Chinese (Chinese appearance and clothing). Even though their (Guanyin . hell king. 4 Guardian) concept comes from the job names of Indian Buddhist scriptures. But their identities must be Chinese peoples (Chinese Buddhas). Their birthplace It must be in ancient China. The background of the story is also China and Taoism. Their parents are also Chinese and Taoist gods. Their teachers are also Taoist gods. They live on the sky (Taoist palace). They are governed by Taoist emperors. They must obey Taoism. Rules. Their statue are placed in Taoist temple buildings. There are also stone carvings of Taoist gods on the roof. The monks clothing is also Chinese Hanfu (Taoist style). All Chinese Buddhist stories they create must have Taoist and Confucian educational content (which cannot be violated). Monks are also subject to Chinese official control and follow orders. In war, they(part) also have to become soldiers and go to the battlefield to kill the enemy and work for the deceased, etc. They are not free. ---------------------------- Before the emergence of Buddhism, the Chinese did not have the concept of hell. So when the Chinese described hell, they would quote Buddhism. "Taoism" has formed Chinese culture and Chinese philosophy. (Heaven) "Confucianism" regulates the moral concepts and etiquette of the Chinese. (Human world) "Buddhism" affects the concept of life and death of the Chinese. (hell) Buddhism is hell. The concept of Buddhism (Birth , death, reincarnation , hell). It has influence on the Chinese people thinking. It also affects their creative works (join hell idea). --------------------------- In Journey to the West story 西遊記. Chinese Buddhism is heaven (placed in the sky of Taoism) . There is a huge difference between them. Chinese completely transformed and beautified Buddhism. It was placed in the sky of Taoism. It became a minor god under the rule of the Jade Emperor . This is why the Chinese Buddha appears in in the sky. From ancient times to the present. China is not controlled by religion. The Chinese emperor himself believes in Taoism (the pursuit of health and immortality). Even the content of the Chinese official examination is Taoist culture. Buddhist organizations (interest groups) mainly penetrate and brainwash Chinese civilians. Before the mid-19th century, most Chinese people did not know that Buddhism came from other countries. Chinese don’t care much about Sakyamuni and Bodhidharma. Because when they preached in China, they first brainwashed the Chinese to believe that Buddhism (a mixture of Taoism and Confucianism) is China’s native religion. 99% of Chinese civilians don’t know them. . Even if the monks knew it, as time went by, they didn’t care. On the contrary. Since Starting from the Tang Dynasty, Chinese officials carried out many large-scale exterminations of Buddhism (they also carried out extermination of Buddhism in Japan). The extermination of Buddhism continued until the 19th century. Search : < Four Buddhist Persecutions in China >

Title should be the "Whole" Story instead of "Real" but I guess one would get more clicks. The real story is all over KZbin. However, you add A'LOT (STAGGERING) amount of intricate details that many others don't. Like the wind carving the egg into the shape of a stone monkey, the rays of gold that shot from his eyes, etc... P.S. also "every anime you can think of" a fairly large, even extreme, exaggeration... unless every anime you have seen involves mainstream shonen jump e.g. One Piece, DBZ... Someone can probably draw comparisons to how Angel Beats, Monogatari series, Read or Die, Cowboy bebop, Conan, Ghost in the Shell, Spice and Wolf (I could go on for MUCH longer but no) etc etc...all somehow draw from this myth and try to prove it, but why go that far. This gonestly sounds like one giant allegory for persevering in human life, both whether you start oht good snd become evil, or evil and become good, and interactions with people who seem good cause of titles, but are evil, people who are evil and known to be so, people who appear evil but really are good and helpful, and people or elements of life that are just good. 🙈🙉🙊 the story with the creation of the earth makes more sense with a geocentricity view the Earth being the center of Creation with a stationary Earth with the sun and moon circling around us like we naturally observe when you apply the heliocentric model to any creation story involving the Earth that's what makes it weird and not connect and not make sense. The Yin yang ☯️⚫⚪ is the sun and moon going around us. ☀️💫🌕.

Chinese Buddhism and Indian Buddhism are completely different. Even in many countries with Buddhist cultures in Southeast Asia, their Buddhist culture and content are completely different (the difference from Chinese Buddhism is also huge). India's main religion and Buddhism is antagonistic. Ancient Buddhism appeared and developed in a certain place in Asia for only a short time (not today India). But Buddhism has existed in other countries and peoples for hundreds of years. Various Buddhist cultures on the earth have India is not relevant. Indians should not fantasize about the whole world.

yeah going to be working in more of whatever I'm interested in. Views are down in SW content in general, so I'm not going to worry about being timely with the SW stuff, just covering great SW things I think are worth your time, but also branching out into a ton of other stuff like the Mass Effect and Halo. Have a xenomorph vid written, and a ton of classic sci-fi book summaries/lore I have planned
