I started watching Ben's videos way back when he was Fake Dr Levin, and those videos were great for me as a budding guitar player, but seeing his videos blossom into these profound multi media works of art that address topics that concern just being a human as well as an artist has been really inspiring. I honestly think anyone can get something out of videos like this, whether you're a musician or not.

You do realize his view counts have been silently going down right? The majority of people who subscribed did so when he was releasing song-writing tutorials, and now they don't bother to click when they see the same blender pseudo-philosophical stuff Most people just don't like new Ben Levin

What makes Tim so good is that he does what he wants, and keeps developing. For sure lots of people wanted more Time and Eric or On Cinema, but he did music. This is why his humor is unique as well, because he did his thing, what he himself wanted. I honestly wish more people would simply do music, not as the most central part of their life, but just to get the voice, the trip out there.

Ben It makes me so happy to see someone else experience and appreciate Tim in the same way I do. You make a great point that what is most compelling about an artist is their humanness and all of the failing, feeling lonely, being accepted, or being rejected etc. that come with it. As a creative person its hard to know why you do what you do, and it is so easy to feel like a fraud when you put your stuff out there, but you just keep doing shit. So I guess I've liked Tim all these years cause I see my own humanness in what he puts out there, and probably all the other artists I like. Thanks for this one, Ben :) Funny Tim Story: One time I saw him do stand up, Neil Hamburger opened for him. Euphoric laughter. Then Tim came on, I was in the front row. I forget the specific bit, but he was in that "asshole comedian persona" and brought me on stage. He said he wanted to have gay sex with me because I did not have any track marks, STD free! The kicked me off because I lived with my mom, I was 17. Best night ever.

"This is coming from me" @2:45 The way I interpret this whole section of Tim's interview, especially following Ben's intro about masks, is not that The Real Tim Heidecker is not a "mask-less" album. (I'm not sure that such an artwork is possible.) I think what Tim is saying here is "I've tried to make this mask look like the real me." It is a "self-reflection" as he says later on. It must be extra challenging to write music for others, that is meant to reflect something of which only you can see the true version.

@@evedotcom the comments on the video I linked u say along differnetly and so do the many re-uploads people have done respectfull said. Tim Hiedecker was always a low rate comedian and but irregardless I grew up watching his show and after seeing him lie and attack Sam and act like a victim I lost all respect for him and so did al large portion of his fans. People purposely call in on his show just to talk about Sam Hyde and he hangs up on them. If you can ruin a man's career by doxing him over a matter of nothing u deserve to be harassed and called out. Sam Hydes show was a gift from Heaven and a blessing to true comedy. Tims comedy is just focused on wierd child humor that makes u lose IQ points. Im just telling u

Hi Ben. The art style makes me think it's going to turn into a goofy meme (almost bimpson esc) but this was a really thoughtful well put together thing that I really enjoyed. I'll for sure be checking this record out. Side Note: The Bob Dylan and Joan Baez poster is super appropriate (in my eyes) because the sound reminds me of what Bob was doing during the Rolling Thunder Review. If you haven't seen the documentary, there are Kaufman esc tendencies associated both with the tour and the film. Anyways hope all is well and keep on keepin on :)
