I knew it, recently I saw a cover from this song ,of Miss Ooha). The drummer in that video plays this with one hand and that was my first clue, secondly your video. Anyway, both videos are useful because we can mix both ways to play , or maybe the last part of the song with 2 hands etc ... BTW thanks for the charts and the bass drums lesson.

I totally agree, by the 7 minute mark I'd probably be using 2 hands as well. I'm glad you found both videos useful

So happy to see this video. It just sounds funkier when played with one hand. Jeff Porcaro talked a lot about this in his instructional video.

Interesting! Like with most straight-16 funk, the main reason for this is having the accent on every eighth note, which can be achieved very naturally using one hand, once you've got your technique good. However, I noticed some of the yt drummers who cover plastic love use two hands but heavily accent their right. I quite like this because it makes the groove sound more electronic in a way (though maybe I'm also afraid to try one hand). Great video!
