I love the automated apps. It's not that I necessarily don't want to talk to people. I actually enjoy talking to people, but having severe social anxiety often makes simple tasks like ordering coffee very difficult...that's probably why I became an editor and not a super sexy movie star. Literally the only reason...stupid anxiety.
@jostalking

I 100 PERECENT UNDERSTAND - I think I have social anxiety too, but I'm doing my best to really overcome it by forcing myself to be on camera, and being on camera in public totally stresses me out, but I force myself to do it!

I am enjoying your KZbin channel man. Questions for you about your voiceover work - how much editing and mastering do you to the audio after you record? Are there certain presets or effects that you like to use on (what I'm assuming is) Adobe Audition?
@jostalking
@jostalking Жыл бұрын
That’s so nice to hear. I use adobe audition and then noise reduction, then multi band compressor broadcast ( I’ll double check the exact name and get back to you.)

do all the tv editors also have to do voice overs?
@jostalking
@jostalking 5 ай бұрын
Actually no, it's just something that I discovered I could do. I edit promos and trailers and a lot of times the editor does a scratch track until the voice over guy can come in. However eventually I started doing voice over because I got good at it and the clients started to request me to do it. Appreciate you watching! Thanks for the comment

You should do this type of video more often. So that will be more like daily vlogs. I know the hard part is editing. But being a pro you can do it easily.

you really think so? I would love to, but it didn't get many views so I didn't know if I should do more - still finding my way around KZbin - I'm trying to figure out where I belong. @@jostalking I believe in you. The contents you keep posting are infectious. So in the initial stage, you may not be getting the views but once you become more popular I believe your videos will pick up the views once YT pushes them more to the audience. You just have to post regularly. Like 3-4 videos each week. I know you have a busy schedule but you can do it. Yes, you can take the ideas from the comments and put that in a video by showing everyday life. More like Casey but you already have your own style.

@@jostalking I love watching “day in the life” content from random people who actually have full time jobs that aren’t just vlogging and content creation. One of the pilots I follow has a full time job as a sound engineering for television golf. Not sure how to properly say that basically he does the audio for golf tournaments on tv. Just an interesting job you’d never think about until you saw someone talk about it. Same with what you do, how you edit different tv shows and stuff. It’s interesting.

@@jostalking well technically flying isn’t his job. He just owns his own small plane to travel for work but he films it sometimes and then makes flying videos about it. I think it helps solidify the plane as a business expense since he is using it to generate KZbin content as well as travel for work.

Very interesting video!! Thank you for making😊 I was wondering if you can help me with some advice. I am currently editing on my iPad, but I want to get serious about video editing. 🎥 If I want to freelance as a video editor for companies for example, or TV, which software should I use? ▶️ Premiere used to be the most popular, but all the creators I follow are migrating to DaVinci or Final Cut. Why? All video editing softwares are quite expensive and they require a massive time investment to master, so I want to make the right decision. What is your professional opinion?
@jostalking
@jostalking Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching again Cristina!! FYI I don’t know if any professional TV or Film editors working on anything other than AVID or Premiere Pro. Those two are the industry standard. Hope that helps. I personally love Premiere and will not take a job unless it is done in Premiere
@CristinaFilms

@@jostalking Thank you for your reply, it is very helpful, yes🙏🏻😊 I understand now that premiere is the industry standard. I am taking MattD’Avella’s KZbin course btw, it’s ok-ish. In case you were interested, definitely overpriced for the information in it (500🥲), it’s not bad , but it’s not packed with info either. I wouldn’t say it is amazing. However I have noticed that it is very pleasant to do, it is organised in a way that makes it simple &easy . I am a master procrastinator, however I have not found myself procrastinating doing it at all. A very enjoyable course. 🤔Maybe because I study video marketing ( which is the same topic on steroids, but for that I pay 8K a year, ouch!) Casey’s course was more action taking, this one is more chill. I would definitely take another of Casey’s courses if he makes another one.

@@CristinaFilms thanks for telling me about Matt’s class I love his style, but I don’t feel like it really resembles mine. I think so connect more with Casey’s style. Maybe you should do a review on Matt’s class? Im sure lots of people would find it helpful.
