I was going to say the same thing. She was loved by someone. I noticed her hooves were even trimmed. She's so lucky she landed at HPHS. Her soft, big, kind eyes killed me. How could she end up in the slaughter pipeline? What was her story? Rest in peace, sweet Diva! You deserved better than what humans did to you. 🌈🐎
@tracym6297Ай бұрын
@VK-qe7if it's hard to know what happened to her that landed her in the slaughter pipeline. When I see the old horses like her it makes me think of my 36 year old horse, Laddie. I couldn't imagine letting him go to someone else for ANY reason. He's been my best boy since he was 5. And he'll be with me to the very end.
@jillp3761Ай бұрын
She had pretty good care in some respects, her feet appear cared for, her body condition not too bad considering her dental problems; so how and why did she end up at an auction where her end was likely to be so horrible ?😢😢

It’s so heart breaking to know her last guardian did not do right by this gentle, beautiful horse. True love is keeping a horse until it is time to set them free across the rainbow bridge and being with them at the end, telling them how much you love them and that they were the best. My gut feeling is that poor Diva fell in an overcrowded trailer heading to auction or fell on a cement floor at an auction. Likely scared & confused. No way for a beloved pet to be treated. I have a 27 year old chestnut QH. I no longer ride him, but I will be with him until he tells me it is his time to leave this earth and I will be by his side with my vet for the last act of kindness & love. This videos really made me cry for sweet Diva. Thank you HPHS for ending her suffering.

Diva was such a sweet kind mare and I know the Last Act of kindness was probably the best thing for her. How can somebody have a horse and love a horse and then treat them like that and throw them away is beyond me. My horses I have when it is their time to go, they cross the Rainbow Bridge with their head in my lap. And yes that is very hard to do but for all the love and work and pleasure they have given me they do not deserve to die in an auction house a slaughterhouse, they deserve to go with me by their side and with dignity. 💔🙏💕🐎🌹

Hello everyone! I applaud you all for all the hard work you do. I need to caution you when taking x-rays of the horses jaws. May I suggest that anyone holding the plate wear a thyroid shield in addition to your regular lead . Many more thyroid cancers in women occur than men...most likely due to mammogram scans! (Although they claim the 'scatter' is less likely in the newer mammogram x-rays)

Question- not a critique i just want to understand better! When your vets find something that would result in requiring the last act of kindness, is there any specific reason the exam continues instead of just stopping there? I was wondeing if it was for like data reasons to share with lawmakers how many horses come to you all with fractures, heart murmurs, bad teeth, ect. Thank you for all that you do for these poor horses ❤️
@keojiabrown6807Ай бұрын
Definitely, data reasons also sometimes it's to further confirm what they already suspected. For example, in Winston's case, because of what was going on/wrong with him, they sent off testing just to make sure whatever he had wasn't contagious. He had epm and something else but nothing contagious.

Two of my horses, both Appy mares, lived to 28 and a gelding died young at 20 but all in the end had some kind of cancer. I heard from way back that Horse Plus has their own crematory on the property to cremate the horses. Is that true. Better then letting the bodies go to a rendering plant. Two of my horses were cremated and are buried at a friend's retirement horse property and Best Friends in Kanab, UT. RIP Diva.

Have a question!? What do you guys do with all of the horses that you give the last act of kinds ? I believe that if ypu offered this to the public, they would choose this instead of sending them to auction . Most people do not have the means to burry their large animals, so they send them off. I think this would be a win-win situation for all invaded.

What method of euthanasia do you use? 😢
@TheresaDamewoodАй бұрын
I really felt sorry for the horse really. I just watched more of your wanting to kill it instead of helping. With all the better training equipment and medicines you were overwhelmed with alot of horses maybe you should also consider some rescue facilities to help with overload to give chances to live people who have the time patience for those poor babies 👶 😢. Not a attempt to justify killing judging that animals do know you plan to kill them and that mare knew and that was the saddest thing of all. They know when you try to help and when you don't. And believe me it's something that they can't escape when you plan their deaths.

Diva was walking around on two broken legs. And you would want to make her do that for another month? Imagine being thirsty and knowing you had to take a couple of steps on broken legs to get to the water bucket? Every day. For 30 days. No. Let her go in peace.
