I still don't know why Ash joined the apex games because she was an apex predator and very superior to her other colleagues. It does not make sense why she would join the apex games where she obviously sees the legends as inferior. Can you please explain?

When Horizon triggered the Ego Retention Codes in Ash, it brought forward the ash personality (Ashleigh has a split personality, the evil Ash side and the better Leigh side). Ash wants to prove that she has transcended all humanity by joining the games and defeating anyone that challenges her. It's kind of a way to exert her dominance again after being supressed by the Leigh personality for a while. Plus you know simulacrums like killing so there's that as well.
