I’m going to look into her life a little more, a book was written about her. I know Mathew didn’t start the group but he said he got them the deal with Colombia Records in 1997. Apparently Destiny’s Child wasn’t his first act either. He said Lil O was his first artist and he got him a deal too, with MCA. Sadly, Andretta passed away in 1997.

@@RenieNostalgic there's a book about it and I believe there's a documentary that goes with that book on Prime. It's called The Making Of a Child of Destiny by Brian Moore. In fact, Kelly was living with Andretta first, but moved in with the Knowles because she was getting a little too close with one of her sons, plus the fact that her health was getting worse, and it was hard to get Kelly to rehearsals. So SHE asked them if they could look after her. AND Kelly wasn't even supposed to still be in the group, she was supposed to have left when the other girls got let go from GT. The record companies didn't want her because she was too shy and stiff, but Andretta fought to keep her in there because she saw potential in her. That book was an eye opener, they completely erased her from history. I lost a lot of respect for him after that

Aw, FORGET all of that. I wanna hear a story about how Michael Jackson helped Beyonce launch her solo career, apart from Destiny's Child. That music industry story is NEVER TOLD, which is VERY DISAPPOINTING. I'm talking about BEFORE Beyonce hooked up with her now-husband, Jay-Z. We should all REMEMBER that Beyonce didn't start out in the music business as Jay's wife. There was a past period, when Beyonce was 'involved' with the KING of POP because he was INVESTING in her solo career. But that story is NEVER told and I wish it would be. Even Beyonce admitted that Michael MENTORED her and taught her a LOT about how to navigate the music business. Yeah, Columbia's Records(a subsidiary under Sony) wanted to PUSH Beyonce as a SOLO artist because she had the KING of POP backing her!
